**EMPIRE TOTAL WAR**

i love steam, but ive decided not to purchase through it because;

a) £45 for the Special edition : £10 more than a boxed
b) No Pre-Load
c) It will take a night to download the game if it is approx 14-15gigs in size

i shall relax with a few beers and play some DoW II skirmish tonight then stroll to the shops and purchase a 'hard-copy'

The lot from Jersey have certainly got their act together - ordered Monday morning, arrived today! How many hours?!

Really? I used to well up with a tears a bit when I seen "jersey retailer" in the dispatch emails :)

Just screwed my order by forgetting to update my payment details on big A to my new card... instead of a dispatch email I just got a revise order one QQ

just had a look in the high street shops for this....seems to be still on pre-order status. Supermarkets seems to be selling it though although i'm not sure if they sell the special forces edition as well...anyone know?

Yep...been reading the forums and it appears that if you bought the game instead of downloading you cant activate and play until tomorrow. Darn. Wish I had read that first, would have bought the download one instead

Would make sense if Retail activation was not untill ACTUAL release day.

There has to be some "Carrot" to pre-order on STEAM :)

You buy retail, you get the best of both worlds as you still activate it on your STEAM account.

Just bought the Special Edition for 27.91 delivered - the cheapest I could find from any online retailer. Haven't played the demo yet as I don't want to spoil things. Just have to finish Fallout 3 now to make time for it!
