Focus RS Review

yea lol wot do proper drivers know anyway lol, far better to trust....

...somebody so objective, like a fanboy who ordered without even a test drive.

So you're saying you believe everything written? Great, the review EVO did about the VXR was very favourable. I guess that make your comment about the VXR being crap complete rubbish. There I was thinking your views we're generally fairly accurate.

Somebody so objective. What exactly do you mean? I was referring to what the press has said not my neighbour. I wouldn't listen to him anyway as most of his cars are bought on a whim. He's just part ex'd his 57 plate M3 for a Cayman because he's 'always wanted one'. Money does not equate to knowing what you're on about.

Hows that an example of not knowing what you're on about? I think the cayman is far better imo than an M3, i would certainly choose one over it.

I've explained that already.

Well I guess he could say the same about you for not knowing how to fly a plain.

How do you know I don't know how to fly a plane?

No, I just dont understand why you feel your opinion is of more use to us than the opinion of people who have driven more performance cars than you've made internet posts.

I don't feel it is. I'd just prefer to make my own mind up having the chance to drive the cars in question.

You've reviewed cars you've driven which have been reviewed in the press, have you not. On your scale, wanting to form an opinion pales into insignificance compared to your full on review. Hypocrite much?

I've not said anything derogatory about the Focus or that I'm going to do a write up, and that my review will be more accurate than the 'professionals'. I'm looking forward to having a drive, as I'm sure most people would. I should hopefully get a drive in the Megan too although it wont be more than a few miles.

Not at all, as I'd never suggest my opinion on a car carried more weight than the objective opinion of somebody who has driven many hundreds if not thousands more cars.

If you gave, for example, both myself and Steve Sutcliffe a Focus RS for the day and then wanted an opinion from one of us, you'd be mad to chose my opinion as the one to listen to.

No. I'd listen to both of you. Just because you don't have the credentials of a professional doesn't mean I wouldn't want to her about it.

The fact remains I never said I was going to post my opinion or that mine would be better. I would just prefer to compare all the cars at my level. Doesn't matter if I don't have the skills of a pro driver. It's a fair test from an average Joe who wants to his own mind up :)

Too much argy in this thread :(

This looks a great car. wonder how it would perform against a Cossie?

I agree. If this was discussed down the pub over a beer I'm sure less misunderstandings would take place. Forums, emails and texts are so easy to misread.

Sorry (to everyone) if I've come across in this way :)

wasnt aimed at you chief, but irrespective i get bored reading these threads cause of people shooting their e-peens off.

Ive been doing some research into this car, I bloody love it! It says that Ford are making 8000 of these in 2 years, but a lot of people are saying that Ford are not taking any new orders for it, is this because they are only allocating 2000 or so orders for the initial launch?
Anyone else thinks it sounds like an ur Quattro?

Ford are simply building a head of steam for a car in a dead market. I promise there will be plenty about for those that really want one.

I agree, i read that unlike the ST these cars are actually built on a proper production line, meaning they can be produced quicker and more effieciently than the ST. I doubt they would bother doing this if they were only planning on building a small amount?
