Hi all,

Basically, I got pulled over for having my offside headlight out, lovely chap, all dealt with very well (Yes, I was suprised!), he ever showed me how ANPR works :p

Anyway, I have to take it to a garage for verification the work has been done, just for them to check it and stamp the ticket. How much will the garage charge? Thanks!

i had all the bulbs in my headlamp unit changed yesterday (my driver side headlight was out)

unfortunatly on my car that required the battery to come out which is too much like hard work for me, so Honda did it replacing all 3 bulbs (headlight, side and indicator) for £25

Halfrauds will do you a bulb bought and fitted for around £12 but i doubt that provides the verification you require... the receipt will say bulb - £7 - fitting £5 tho...

It went on the way to the girlfriend's house, and I got pulled on the way back at about 1am.

And I can fit it myself, I just need to get it checked at a garage and stamped to say it's working again :)

i couldn't, only when i parked up front on to a wall did i notice.

I only noticed when I was sat behind a van at some lights :) of course from then on I knew, and having half the road in darkness annoyed me immensely :p

People that use their fogs to make up for having a light out need to die, damn chavs. You see it so much in Liverpool :(

Just fit it yourself and take it to an MOT garage. Thats what I did. Cost me a few quid for the few seconds work which involved them looking at it and stamping something!

You'd be surprised how many people drive around with a headlight not working, nearly as bad as the idiots driving round with their front fog lights permanently on.

Yep, I was planning to change it when I got home anyway :p

Round our way you can guarantee any car with it's foglights on is a Saxo, Corsa or 106.

Why were you driving around with a headlight out? Surely you noticed

How can you not notice? I have one out and it glaringly obvious it's out if i have to drive at night

I only noticed mine out yesterday after a friend pointed it out to me. It could have been gone for 5 minutes or 5 days.

Does this make me a bad person?

Should I hand myself over to the police?

Mine went on Thursday last week. Couldn't see the latch I had to release to get the bulb out so after some pulling and twisting I paid the Halfords kid to do it.

It was ridiculously easy mind, and now I know where the latch is I can do it myself.

A mate and I liftshare to work and we are always suprised just how many cars on our 50 mile journey every single day have a light or even two out. Then use the fogs on because the headlight isn't working.

The other day we said look at this nobbler coming up with a headlight out and fogs on. Had to laugh when we saw it was a Fiesta police car :D

Changed the drivers side one on my Pug 306 about 4 weeks ago, now the the passanger ones gone too !

Arrrrgggghhhhhh !!!!!

Was a right pain to do and I ended up breaking a few grill clips, I'd better invest in some new clips as i'll probably break the rest.

Try Essex, even the OAP's are at it ! :D

Thats the problem, its just not chavs anymore, all sorts of people get into their car and switch on every damn light they can find:p

Personally front fogs dont bother me, rear fogs and 1 headlight out peeps bother me more.

Expect to pay £5 to £10 for your ticket stamped, anyone wanting to charge more is taking the *** if you have changed the bulb all they need to do is see it working, job done.
