Peugeot 306 dashboard question

On my Peugeot 306 LX 1.9 dashboard, located just under the mileage, some numbers appear when I turn the car over at ignition then go out after a few seconds. Over time, these numbers get lower and lower and eventually into minus.

Then after a service I noticed they go up again like 4000, then steadily decline ...

Anyone know what these numbers are? The manual has nothing in there about them :confused:

Its miles between services.

And what do they do at the service to get them up again ?

It goes into negative to show that you have gone over the service interval.

You can reset it yourself but I can't remember the exact sequence, try some google on it.

Edit - here you go- post #4 http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=269371&f=160&h=0 Button 2 is the one you press in to reset the trip.

No, it isnt just a guide. It's an easy to read display of exactly when it needs servicing.

Don't skip the service intervals. The 1.9 n/a diesel is pretty rugged, but servicing is very cheap and there is no reason to miss the intervals (which is every 6000 miles)
