help me i cant install far cry 2!

Hi, so i formatted my xp because i wanted to give vista another go after downloading all thr updates for it, so i installed the game all good, i try to activate with the online check thing and it says i cant run the game because the serial is already in use!

Nobody else has this key, i just forgot to revoke the license before i formatted the xp os, now it thinks im trying to register on a 2nd pc

What can i do now? Thanks!!

I'm in exactly the same predicament, loaded up FC2 last night after a fresh install, only to be told I can't play a game I've paid for.

Sent a support ticket to Steam, hopefully I won't have to resort to using less legitimate measures!

Makes me laugh, that the insane DRM only fubars legit customers :mad:

this game is quality, if you like crysis your a hypocrite, maxed settings the game looks amazing.

Im not using steam, but crappy ubisoft wont let me contact them, i registered twice and it still asks me to register again and again, there support forums are no good neither :mad:

If anyone has a solution please let me know, securom sucks ass, i downloaded a crack to see if it would let me play, no joy!

I started playing gta iv again, i was up to about 70% or so in FC2, dam you have register everything to play a game, i went from consoles to pc for better gaming, its just a farse now :mad:

You'll soon get bored.

Every mission has the same format and the randomly spawning rebels will soon turn tedious.

thanks for the link cyberyk, however using the revoke license tool does not work!

so i managed to get a no cd crack that works, how gay is that i bought the game and all the security crap stops me installing it!

Im further in the game than i thought, 92%.

I find the game enjoyable if played in small dosages, i can see why a lot dislike the game, i tend to stick it on for half hour, 1hr max each time, doesnt seem as boring then

Eh? I don't think anyone would dispute that the graphics on Far Cry 2 are pretty decent. The problem is everything else!

I've never been so bored by a game in my life.

I raised a support ticket with Ubisoft at lunch time, and they just mailed me back saying my activation limit has been increased.

4 hours for a positive response - not bad!

I've had to use cracks for 3 out of the last 5 games I legit bought

due to DRM issues... in one case support actually told me how to edit a file to work around the DRM!

I hope they get over this whole DRM thing soon - I've not even bought or touched GTA4 because of it (and the whole installation/user accounts thing) even tho I bought all the previous games. Its pretty much at the point where I won't buy a game I know has DRM now on principle and if I really really want to play it... well guess what

I liked Crysis and Far Cry, but I played FC2 for about twenty minutes before I got so bored that I quit it and never played it again. The gameplay is rubbish and IMO the graphics are worse than Crysis.
