Hi

i perchased a Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 X 2GB) DDR2 8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX8500D2K2/4G)

Recieved on Monday opened box to find both sticks have different codes, other dual kits ive seen have labling to say witch is stick one and stick two?

Have i recieved a dual channal kit?

Thank you for any help

If the kit is labelled as Dual Channel then I'd be sure you have. I've never heard of sticks being labelled as 'stick 1' and 'stick2'... what brand was that?

The acid test is to install them (remembering to use the same coloured slots on the mobo) and check what your bios reports on boot as it should say something about the ram running in dual channel mode.

the kit i saw before was ocz sli kit both ram had sam serial no and stated which was stick 1 and 2.

My 2 new sticks have differnt serial numbers.

have them running in same coloured slots but not sure what the bios is reporting will have a look.
i replaced 4 sticks of cellshock 4gb as my system had been shutting down when playing games but ran fine with 2 sticks = 2gb
Problem i have now is with the new stuff only filling 2 slots my system is shutting off again!

I am baffled

Cheers

Its all the same stuff mate - probably a different date run of the same production run.

CPUz will tell you if its running in dual channel ;)

Up the NB voltage by a notch or 2.

Have you looked for a BIOS udate or chipset driver udate?
