Whilst in san fransisco we were hustled, i already knew about setups but thought id have a go at trying to win some money anyway, or just have a go to say ive 'been there done that' ...
Guy with a table with 3 small cups and a small red ball. He was moving the ball from cup to cup really fast "eanie meanie miney mo, watch were the red ball goes"
There were two other guys there who were playing, one was constantly winning and losing and sometimes picking what was obviously the wrong cup, then the other would come in for a 1 out of 2 chance and sometimes get it wrong and sometimes right. Now im thinking these blokes were/are working with the guy who had the 3 cups with small red ball under (to drag in customers)
Hand over $20, win 20, simple. Sometimes it would be minimum amount though.
I watched for a bit then when i was sure i pointed to a cup, handed over $40...and lost it.
We stayed and one of my mates who was positive it was under a certain cup handed over $200...and lost. Went white as a ghost and walked off with us, not saying much.
Now, i know we were hustled, ill take it as a hard lesson learned. But how the hell did he make the ball not be under the ones we picked? I was watching really closely when he lifted the cup i pointed to (that had nothing under) and then the one with it under and the last one with nothing.
