Graphite alloys

I would have gone for black ones anyway if they hadnt already been fitted by the previous owner. As above, most alloys are silver so is nice to be a bit different :D

Black wheels look awesome on the right car. That 599 is just sexual, the weels look fantastic with the matt black paint.

Black wheels for the win \o/

OP must be kidding... People have been doing this since bloomin paint was invented!

I had my alloys sprayed anthracite on my first car in 1999!

I like em, which is why mine are like this......

EVERYONE has silver alloys, so I decided to be different. It was either going to be white (which would have looked crap) or that.

No mate. That looks fantastic because the balance is right.

That particular car and that colour are complimented by the alloys. If it were a black car though it might not work.

I like that GTR a lot, but I'd still rather have a GT2. GTR is still, to be perfectly honest, an affordable supercar which a lot of people could afford at a stretch :D

Don't mind black wheels on a white car but I don't like black on black. Grey just makes the wheels look dirty.

When I was getting my wheel refurbed, I was tempted my a darker smoked chrome. It looked good in the showroom! In the end I went the otherway with the brightest silver I could, which looks best on my black car imho.

As said above, I just think now it would have looked dirty to have dark wheels on a black car.

Why has it recently become fashionable to spray your rims graphite, or buy graphite/black alloys.

They look hideous on 99% of cars. I see some really nice cars ruined by black alloys. I guess wealth and style/artistic judgement don't come hand in hand.
And to say they look good on black cars is even worse. Silver alloys look superior as there is contrast, improving the general visual balance of the car.

Classic example is that 599 in the Daily Encounters thread. Astonishing car, disgusting rims.

Anyone agree?

Nope.
