Oil and distruction

I walk that area and it is indeed very beautiful, so lets destroy it and make some MONEY

There are more places to walk than there are places to drill for oil. Move on.

obviously clueless

I think you're the one who's clueless. or simply didn't understand what I meant.

There are only a select few places in the UK where it is worth drilling for oil. However, there are thousands of miles of foot paths and bridleways you can walk on.

I don't think giving up this small area to oil exploration is going to drastically reduce the amount of available area we can undertake "leisure" pursuits such as walking or cycling.

Just NIMBY'ish imo.

"Hello, we are making this all up, but dont worry, we dont need oil . . . . . "

And it's most likely rubbish too, the most likely plan would be to stick in a pipeline, unless it was that small, and then it probably wouldn't be economically viable, especially with the $pB rate as it is now.

(According to a reliable source the price of oil atm is making most of the north sea extraction a loss.)

I feel for you, about the destruction of a nice habitat but I also think go ahead, as next year I will probably be working in the oil industry. Which is a bit of a problem in a way as I don't like what they do some of the time, but I also like the experience, jobs and pay...

Your all a bunch of ****ing ****s, ****y **** ****s, I hope you all drown in your own vomit you ****ing ****er nob loving ****s.

Seems about right, its usually the way with NIMBY's. You either fight the cause or get nothing but grief and hassle untill you do. Why post this on here and then get all tetchy because other people have a different view? Local NIMBY's here are on the war path because a company want to put up a survey mast/turbine. Honestly is it that much of an issue?
