85 Million mega jackpot !?

I've never done the Lottery and probably never will. I'd rather keep my money than have a several million to 1 chance of winning.

Just spent 5 minutes getting onto the NL website, had to queue. I expect that kinda service from Fileplanet back in 2003... :D

Don't fancy my chances. I expect Saturday mornings will play out as usual.

Wake up, pull on dressing gown, go downstairs and switch the kettle on. Back upstairs, pee, downstairs again and make tea. Switch laptop on, check mail. Spy "Exciting news about my ticket" email from National Lottery. Perk up, log in to website, check balance. £6.20, screw up imaginary ticket and chalk up another £5.80 lost. Boo.

I subscribe online, £5.50 a week, 1 euro, 1 daily (friday), 1 lotto + dream no and 1 thunderball each week.

I generally win my money back, which is nice, it's like saving in a current account. ;)

Tickets are £1.50 a line instead of £1 for standard Lotto. EDIT - beaten bah :(

I've bought a couple, you never know!

For a full ticket of 4 lines, its worth £6.

Id rather stand a chance of winning something, even if its a small amount rather than not trying at all.

Just checked, I'd bought 4 lines @ £6, like you said! I'm always up for a bit of a lucky chance, I think my Grandma influenced me when I was very young and got me on fruit machines when I was about 4!

How is it pointless?, surely the point is that you have a chance to win £85m or a lesser sum for a ticket costing £1.50, yes the odds are incredibly high but people do win money from lotterys around the world, cant see it being pointless then.

Correct.

Far from pointless, what is £6 these days, a small round of drinks ?

when i win 85mill tonight
all the people above me in this post i will buy them all a 2k rig from here !
