Just bought an Xbox - Spec me some games

After years of holding off I've taken the plunge and bought an Xbox. I need some games so I'm looking to you lot to spec me something that will keep me entertained.

I'm going to buy COD5 even though I suck using a controller. Way too many years of mouse and keyboard!

I don't mind what the game is, just want something that plays well and really shows what the xbox can do.

BioShock and Dead Space are probably going for cheap now too. :cool:
 
What do you enjoy, and what have you already played on the PC? There's really too much to pick from if you just want anything! :p

To start you off:
Gears + Gears 2.
Halo 3.
Mass Effect

And on the Arcade:
Braid
Castle Crashers
 
I'm a fan of FPS but struggle on the controller. Think I'm looking for something I can lose myself in for a few hours at a time.

I'm not really after any driving games as I've got Forza 2 lined up.

I've just stared Force Unleashed on the Xbox which is ok for starters.

I've not really played any games for a long time so I'm well out of the loop.

edit. I'd quite like a decent flight sim. Something between real life and arcade?

I bought a 360 to stop playing FPs only...
The first 5/6 games I played were all FPSs lol
 
I really like the controller, just get fed up with shooting up and down rather than the target lol.

I'll keep practicing :)

Then I think Mass Effect will be right up your street ;)

I'd avoid Gears of War.... most over rated game ever imho, can anyone say boring?
 
Kameo is still one of the best games on xbox 360.

Rainbow Six Vegas, burnout paradise, PGR4 and Fallout 3 come to mind.

Just a few that are on my list to get, personally I wouldn't go near first person shooters on consoles unless they are exclusives like killzone 2 etc.
