The zalman PSU's are very good, I can highly recommend one. What system do you need it for?
 
Awesome psu's but do you really need one that big? For a rough guide, the rig in my siggy plus a pair of sata ll hdd's, sata dvdrw, Zalman ZM-MFC2 multifunction fan controller and 5x 120mm fans pulls 274w at the wall with Orthos and Fur stability test both running at the same time. You may be able to use one of the smaller ones.
 
Quite a few people have recommended them on these forums, I have the Corsair range which is fairly good, I'm running the 620w & 520w version.

850w seems overkill, unless your running multiple GPU'S and a overclocked quad.
 
have a look at the antec neo power PSU's because they are actually modular and if you don't need the full 850W a 550W is at a resonable price:D
 
Well I'm running an Oc'd E8400 and a OC'd 9800GTX+ and 3 HDDs and 2 watercooling loops and 8x120mm fans and 4 cathodes,

but I'm to go SLI and add 2 more HDDs into the mix and get more fans for when I do my scratch build.

would i be better off with the 750 version of this ?

The Zalman psu's are great, plenty juice and silent. Thats down to the 140mm fan and heatpipes.
Does make them bit longer than standard psu's tho, check your case can take it!

Ok I have a Thermaltake Armour LCS so I think it will fit (Any one confirm this) not to sure though I have a Corsair HX520 atm.

Yeah should fit in the psu section of that case.
Believe thats at the upper rear of the case.
Good case, looks like decent cable management in it?

Yes its got awesome cable management to be honest really hides the cables, and its easy to route them round.

Yes I looked at the ZM750HP but unfortunately it doesn't support SLI which is a shame and I don't think the size will really matter as my case is HUGE in size but I'm still running out of room :confused: oh well, I'll be starting my scratch build in the coming month which should be awesome :D I got some spectacular plans for it as well which I'm testing at the moment ;)

I'll think I will go with the ZM850HP as it will be future proof for me 'I Think' :p

Yes the 750w does support SLI. It has a 6 pin and a 6/8 pin pci-e connectors. if you need any more than that you use the adaptors that come with the cards.

The 850w is 45mm longer than the 750w and below so in your Armour you may have to lose the roof mounted 92mm fan. I have just measured mine and it's touch and go if the 850w would actually fit in my Armour case with the fan in place. It would be adviseable to remove the hdd cage that sit's right on top of the psu too as it will really restrict airflow into the psu.

My top fan is removed anyway at the moment however I do have all 3 my HDD in the cage so might haft to re-home them which will be a pain because my TT pump/res that came with the amour are in the way.

The thing with the Zalman's is that due to the heatsink the fan runs extremely slowly which in turn makes them very quiet. If you leave that hdd cage right in front of the fan it will more or less block the airflow which will make the fan run faster and make it noisy. I really don't know why TT stuck a hdd cage there. I have never used mine due to the fact it smothers the psu fan.

Its a nice idea but impracticle in the heat world I shall have a think maybe move the cage horizontally and make bracket for it at school or something.

I shall have to do some measuring for Monday lol.
