Steam UT3 Update + Free Weekend

wow valve really screwed up with this.... i bought the game downloaded now it says updating... updated to 15% at ~20kb/s turned my pc on today and it's again on 0%... :/ i think ill wait till the weekend end.........

Just added my retail key on steam, and let valve sort the downloads out.

Managed to download the update over night, after having it sit a 0 all day.

Mine has been sat at ''Download starting...'' since last night.

Occasionally it'll start to download something but then it just goes back to ''Download starting...'' :(

Well i've download the patch manually. But it wont install. looks like ive got to download the updates via steam for this:mad:

It does that, but it is still doing something. Mine did that several times, then next thing I knew it was completed. Funny how you instantly jump on Valve.

Well it suddenly started downloading and it didnt take long to finish, i'm presuming its only downloaded the patch. Is the titan pack available to download via steam yet then ?

Does Steam download 2.0 patch yet?

Manually did 2.0 + Titan pack but doesn't seem to be anyone on? Assuming it only does the previous patch still.

its really not that hard to do.
1. Download patch and titan pack from beyondunreal links above
2. Close steam and install pointing it to your ut3 directory
3. Launch steam, will download a bit more, dunno what but it only took about 20mins for me at a miserable 70k/s
4. Play :)

Number 3 took me since 6pm yesterday for it to start, numerous restarts with different countries selected, just happened by random this afternoon.

...and still there's only about 6 servers! :(

Great game but completely dead.

of course i do... why not? i payed the money for the game and i cant play it? that just shows that sometimes it's better to buy it in the shop... than download on these stupid speeds...

It's release week for Empire (huge game) and only a few weeks past DoW II, and with UT3 (8gb+) going free can hardly expect it to be up to usual standards.

Bad planning on someone's part. Very bad planning.

I bet 90%+ of Steam users either;

a. Can't physically download 8gb in 72 hours.
b. Will be capped by their shoddy ISPs soon after starting the download (see point a.)
