Any thoughts on the following probable purchases I may make this afternoon?

Left 4 Dead: Don't want another Dead Rising (still annoys me that I bought that rubbish), but hearing that it's mostly a multiplayer experience.

Dead Space: Heard you lot rave about this, but hearing that the combat is pretty rubbish.

Saints Row 2: LOVED the first one, this one any better (don't start a GTA IV v SR2 row, just a general overview).

Don't really want much multiplayer games as I don't simply have the time of late, but would like something to keep me occupied for a while.

I'd get L4d. I actually dont own it but played the demo loads!!!!! great game.....nothing like dead rising and a quality title from Valve.

All good tbh.

L4D really needs to be played online so if you're looking for a single player game I'd give it a miss. That said it offers one of the best multiplayer experiences on the console, particularly if you like playing co-op.

Dead Space is a quality game and I didn't think the combat was too bad (certainly better than Resident Evil 5). Scared the **** out of me a few times so if you enjoy survival horror I'd highly recommend it.

Saints Row 2 I haven't played much but I keep meaning to come back to it as a lot of people on this forum rate it very highly. The general concensus is that its better than the first.

I'd say get either Dead Space or SR2. I think SR2 would keep you going for longer as Dead Space offers about 10-15 hours roughly on the first playthrough, which isn't a lot. If you loved the first SR then I'd grab SR2.

SR2 is great fun. Comparisons with GTA are inevitable. I would say its like compairing Gran turismo to GRID. GT may have the better looks and physics, but GRID is fun to play.
If you loved the first one then get this. Just be prepaired to hate the driving and you should be fine.

L4D: i will probably get flamed for this but i dont like it. I much prefer Zombie Mod on pc :D.

I highly recommend dead space, very good game. I only played it through once at roughly 9 hours gametime but would go back to it at some point for the second play through.

Saints row 2 looks really good, not played it but my mates seem to really enjoy it and say its better than gta4

Well since multiplayer isn't your thing then I'd suggest Dead Space, the combat was satisfying for me, hearing the crunches of dismemberment.

Left 4 Dead is seriously over-rated, the only reason to consider it would be for multiplayer online with mates, which you dont have time for so I would deffo not buy this. Only played Saints Row 2 at my mates and didnt really get into it much, Ive completed Dead Space though and it is awesome! So Id deffo recommend that!

I picked up L4D on teh PC when Steam were doing it cheap, and I must say, I'm glad i got it cheap, as I've only played it once, and although interesting, I think that unless you're playing with mates, then it's nothing special.

afraid I can't comment on the others, other than to say, I think I'll be trying Dead Space once I clear my current back log.
