Hallo OcUk gamers

Been playin a lot of Oblivion lately, fantastic game but I do have one gripe. Im not impressed by the bad-weather effects, they do nothing for me and I dont find it immersive at all. So blah to all the snow, fog and rain.

I like the sunny, clear skies and clear night skies the best with no wind.

Now...I have found the console-commands for instant clear weather which are:

Paradise - 370CE
Clear - 38EEE

From Planet Elder Scrolls:

If you add ",1" after the code (the weather over-ride switch), the weather will stay like that until you either change it manually with fw or sw again, or you enter the code "releaseweatheroverride"

So for example to have instant and permanent clear weather I type:

FW 38EEE 1

The problem is it doesnt work  After I enter that command and exit the console the weather *does* clear instantly but in about 20 seconds it starts snowing/raining/fogging up again. What am I doing wrong?!

If any of you Oblivion gamers have got this to work could you please tell me how you did it!

Thanks :D

Try FW 38EEE,1 I think ;)

Yeah I think the rain is really immersive in this game, especially when you use weather mods like natural environments.

Cant wait for ES:5, I've played Oblivion to death.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Nothing worked I tried what Leezer said as well but that didnt work either.

So I fired up my Oblivion Mod Manager and had another look.......and spotted these two mods:

---------------------
Natural_Weather
Natual_Weather_HDR
---------------------

I disabled them and woot woot the FW 38EEE 1 (or FW 38EEE ,1) codes now work! Permanent clear skies and clear nights with all the stars! :)

I know...I should have looked there first before comin on here crying...

There are also mods for weather rings and what not that let you control the weather in game.

Id be REALLY interested in that.....will check em out!

Apologies for going slightly OT, but when can the next in the series be expected? Any solid information about the content etc. yet?
So far no concrete details, but I believe they have confirmed it in interviews.

Personally I expect them to fully reveal it once they've finished with the major Fallout 3 expansions. Possibly at the end of the year (guess).

I just pray they dont make it "online" like so many people seem to want.

There are some fantastic weather mods on TESNexus, search around a bit and you really can make the weather much better. Some mods off the top of my head are Natural Environments, Better Storms And Weather, Atmospheric Weather System. Some of the storm sounds are fantastic, and you can even get a mod that lets you hear rain from inside.

Ah ok, would make sense. A quick google revealed they had stated 2010, but a) that information may not be concrete, and b) when was the last time an ETA for a game release proved to be right?!

If they need to make it online somehow in order to keep the franchise alive financially I wouldn't mind, providing a) it was an option!, and b) the single player part did not lose out because of it.

After playing Oblivion to death, then carrying on with mods, I can't wait for the next installment. I jsut hope they release the editor with the game instead of months down the line like they did with Fallout 3.
