Lenovo's IdeaPad S10 netbook

Just looking at these.... where did you get it for £115? :) that is a great price!

Lenovo had a voucher offer on and some lucky few got their vouchers upgraded to £200 off :)

Screen height is only annoying for some apps that just don't cater for it. i.e. in msn options menu you can't see the bottom row of buttons without dropping the taskbar down making it hidden. But nothing show stopping day to day really.

s10e has the Lenovo Quickstart stuff on it, don't think the s10 has that, although never used it as windows boots up so quickly.

Really liking mine still, gets so much use now and is great for watching stuff on.

I've just got my S10e and its awsome - much nicer finish than the samsung because it doesnt get covered in fingerprints in seconds - i have to say that the feel of the keyboard is fantastic when typing, the only thing to annoy me is the shift key on the right because its in a different position to my toughbook however that wount take long to adjust to. :)

Still thinking about the S10e but now the NC20 is out I'm undecided again?

Although I like the black matt finish and I like the Lenovo build quality..

Also can get the S10e for £249 and the NC20 is another £150 approx so...

ok finally got it !

3cell sits flush, about 3hours full charge.

9cell dont sit flush lol, about 10hours full charge.

quite good on the desktop, gets some air under it and angles the keys for more comfortable typing.

plenty of juice now :D

got it from hong kong £74 shipped. Im not worried about its size and dimensions its not for looks. Will sit nicely in the bottom of the netbook bag :) over 12hours combined battery life plenty for the long road :D

Got my S10e today....

Very pleased with it.. typing on it now!

Is there any way of keeping the processor @ 1.6 as it defaults to 700 otherwise?

I'm very surprised at how nippy it is in general... not sure whether to put vista 32bit on or keep XP home on as yet....?

Just ordered the white version for £259, cant wait =D. Thinking of sticking mac osx or windows 7 when it arrives.

ok changed power setting to performance and cpu at 1.6 now.... although the fan is on and off all the time, maybe because its on my lap and getting a wee bit hot...

Just put Vista on the S10e but there are no drivers displaying on the Lenovo website for Vista nor Xp??

Can anyone else see any?? Wifi, LAN etc etc?

@ ShaolinDreams

Had my s10e for only a day now but fallen for it totally, except the battery life. Considering getting one of those 9 cell jobbies you have from eBay. Is it the same quality plastic as the lenovo batteries?

Wonder how long it'll last before the charge degrades... 3rd party batteries arn't usually as good as the legit parts... generally

Having said that, I've never had a laptop with a much better battery life that about 2.5 - 3hrs anyway (and I've had LOADS of em, through work)

I see the Lenovo £259 offer just lists the white version. I can't seem to see the black one on their site?

@Hades

Got mine (black) from **** for £254 delivered! They seem to do a special on them every couple of weeks - it's still on if you are interested. As OCUK don't sell the S10e I take it I am not breaking the forum rules?? I'll edit if so

btw I don't seem to have an issue with fan noise that some on various forums seem to complain about and I've been running the cpu at full whack. Bios fixed? I did an update out of the box
