well i turned 30 this year and trying to do a few things i have often wanted to, I'm thinking of buying a road legal quad for the summer, and wondered if anyone had any info or advice on these, and what sort of make/cash/age would be a sound be bet?

This is untrue, all the people I see riding road legal quads are fat guys in T-shirts and shorts!![]()
I thought about this last year but never got round to it - I have to wear a suit for work so when I bike to work on a Sunday I leave shirts and trousers there to change. I could do the same with a quad.
Another reason for the quad is that I also have to take my daughter to school which is on the way so its easier for me if carrying her on the back.
Its less than 2 miles to work but all downhill (murder on a pushbike at 5pm in the rain) The risk of an accident is there but very low and its all small town centre roads.
Yes, but you get cocks on bikes dressing like that as well. Fox's point was that you are so vulnerable that you would need to wear this stuff to stand a remote chance of surviving an accident.
You'd look like a complete choad.
Imagine the looks on peoples faces if they saw a 30 year old bombing it up and down the Avenue. Eurgh.

A quad would appear to have all the disadvantages of a bike (Impractical, need to dress like a power ranger, will almost certainly die in a horrible way if you have a crash) but none of the advantages such as great performance, great thrills etc.
It rather perplexes me why there are so many road legal Quads.
