North Korea threatens full scale war if rocket is intercepted

What happens if due to shoddy commie workmanship the rocket falls out of the sky and NK claims it was shot down?
Could happen :)

On another point the British armed forces is 429,761 strong including reserves and we spend $61,280,890,000 on the military.
The Korean people's army is 9,079,000 strong (21x the size of ours) yet they spend $5,500,000,000 (11x times less than us).

And I thought our military is underfunded!! lol

Does that Korean figure include reserves ?

The NK regular forces will not likely be that large. They have a standing army of around a million if my source is correct and I can't imagine the air force and navy being the remaining 8 million.

You really think they'll pay any attention to the UN?

Hans Blix: Then let me look around, so I can ease the UN's collective mind. I'm sorry, but the UN must be firm with you. Let me in, or else.
Kim Jong Il: Or else what?
Hans Blix: Or else we will be very angry with you... and we will write you a letter, telling you how angry we are.
Kim Jong Il: OK, Hans. I'll show you. Stand to your reft.
Hans Blix: [Moves to the left]
Kim Jong Il: A rittle more.
Hans Blix: [Moves to the left again]
Kim Jong Il: Good.
[Opens up trap, Hans falls in]

Time to send in Team America!

Your post, though humerous (and from a good movie ;)) sadly quotes the truth. It's just a shame us here in "Great" Britain have our hands tied metaphorically by the UN :(

// Edit - Back on topic peeps

IMHO, this is pretty much the same old tiresome sabre-rattling we're all well used to hearing from North Korea. You know, the usual strop they throw when they feel that the world's not paying them the attention they so clearly deserve.

Yeah that was including reserves, as was our figures, I just pinched them of wiki :)

a lot of people seem to make it sound like US could just wipe NK off the map with very little effort. Bit harder then that for sure. Would be heavy casualties for the US and a good month or so of pure fighting if not more imo

I hope china shoots it down just for the lulz to see what NK would do :p

haha, would be interesting to see actually. honestly...i bet they would do nothing at all and realise their plan of indimidation failed epic style.
