Oh yeah, this game sometimes has me all over the place with what to do. I know just hit them with stasis and cut them up etc but sometimes the blind panic just takes over and I end up re-doing a small section once the shock has died down.

Big levels, the first game I've played since Bioshock that seems a decent length for the money.

By far my game of the year. Just finished level 6 which has taken me just under 2 hours. A brilliant level. I should go to sleep but I just want to play more.

I usually play FPS's or car games, but this takes me back to the Resident Evil-type games on the PS1. No music, just atmosphere, the sound of me breathing and my boots on the floor!

Impossible Mode Tips

Only need 2 more achievements now. Tier3 Engineer is one of them. Tried to play Impossible mode without buying any DLC. Got to end of level 6 boss who I just do not have enough ammo for

Found out that you can do the following to make it easier (unless you want to buy the DLC that is!).

1: Complete a game on Easy then do not save your status at the end but start a new game again on Easy and the Military suit will be available on Level1 plus you retain whatever nodes/credits you finished the game with.

2: Speedrun complete the game again with the military suit now this time and again once completed do not save this status instead start a new game again immediately on Impossible mode and you should be wearing the Military suit

which will make things slightly easier as you do not need to buy the Level2+3 suits or upgrade them.

3: Nodes/credits weapons do not carry over to a new game though but there are some other glitches you can use for mega credits on levels 3+4 :

Think EA cunningly designed this game to be completed on Impossible mode with you buying some DLC as unless you use these glitches its very hard to get this 150GS!

This is probably the only game on the 360 that I refuse to play before midnight, there must be complete darkness before it goes on. Playing it through on hard first time, had a quick go on medium but the monsters were weak, so i turned it up a notch and now theres a lot more too be scared about. Much better game with the difficulty up.

My mate ran through it in just over 6 hours on impossible without glitching and doing the plasma cutter achieve at that same time.

I saw the glitch so you can start impossible with the level 6 suit. Personally I'm not that bothered to go through it again straight away. I will keep my save file and come back to it next year when there is nothing to play.

Exactly what I'm going to do, I got to the first save point on Impossible and will definitely go back to it and finish it off at some point.

Level 10 on this minus the Zero G basketball pap, is quite probably the best SP level I've played on any game for getting the heart pumping. I had a cold sweat running down my sides with Mr Regeneration.

How this game only got 8.7 on IGN is beyond me. Everyone I know thats played it says it's the best SP game they have played in years.

Only shame is some of the guns are a hinderance rather that a help even maxed out. So I end up over using the Plasma cutter while chasing the 30 kill achieves. If it wasn't for the achieves you would only ever use the cutter.

Im currently playing through it, and yeah, its nails. Im upto chapter 6, with no ammo left or health packs. The enemies take about 4-5 hits for each limb and if they hit you they usually take over half your health off. Its do-able but this time round you REALLY need to use the slow mo thing and consider who you shoot first.

The obsidian armour is miles better than the default armour. I downloaded it (for free!) under the assumption it would be a new skin, which it is, sexy skin too, but it's also a massive upgrade right at the start of the game.

Don't want to use it, would feel like i was cheating.

Actually, it hurts you later on as you can't upgrade it to a better suit. I found that out the hard way.

I just did some reading around on that and apparently it's a level 5 suit which is the maximum level. Or am i wrong?

[EDIT] Ah, it lacks damage reduction that the lvl 5 has

Finished!

Was expecting more from the ending after the wow comments. Hopefully there will be a sequel someday because that was one of the best SP games I've ever played.

A magnificient game.

Got up to Level 6 boss then quit for now as its really tough. You get the same save points & ammo as before but use a lot more ammo as everthing takes more hits and you lose most of your health in 1 hit so need to buy lots of health packs. You can use the following cheats once only per save game to make it easier once you have entered these cheats and save the game it remembers so the only way to reuse them is to start new game:

Except for these 2 cheats below work all the time:
Press Start then XXYYY - Refill Oxygen
Press Start then XYYXY - Refill Stasis

These cheats below only work once per savegame:
If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound. Press Start or B to resume the game with the code(s) activated but you have to pause/unpause for each cheat.

+2 Nodes
Pause the game and press: Y, XXX, Y

+ 5 Nodes
Pause the game and press :Y, X, Y, XX, Y, XX, Y, XX, Y

+1,000 credits
Pause the game and press: XXX, Y, X

+2,000 credits
Pause the game and press: XXX, YY

+5,000 credits
Pause the game and press: XXX, Y, X, Y

+10,000 credits
Pause the game and press: X, YYY, XX, Y

All Cheats Do not affect achievements at all but even with them & that Military suit glitch impossible mode is still very challenging :eek:

Best way to tackle it is to do the following:

1: Buy the DLC for better suit+weapons.
2: Or Complete the game on easy restart a new game on easy again without saving then after getting the Level 6 suit which is available from your just completed game play the game through again on easy mode as usual without entering any cheats.
3: After completing the game for the 2nd time on easy start another new game straight away this time on Impossible mode and now enter all the cheats and save the game so you will have a good headtstart with a better suit+plenty of credits/nodes. Remember do not save the game straight after completing it on easy twice only after you have started an Impossible mode WITH the suit you finished Easy on otherwise you will be back to square one!! Will still be hard in places but its now doable!!

He must be a gaming god as without any DLC or glitches its practically impossible as ammo runs out much quicker and you sometimes die from 1 hit so to complete 12 levels @ 30mins each or less is amazing :eek:

He's alright, he said he only carried the Plasma cutter so that all the ammo he got was only for that. Everything else he sold. Also he didn't need money for nodes. He did glitch stasis and oxygen. He didn't know about the credit glitch as I'm sure he would have used that too.

well, i can honestly say this is one of the most enjoyable games for me for a while. hated it at first. but i've just got to the part where you finally reach the morgue and well.. you know what happens, i wont give it away!

that part was awesome! pretty gory though. not that im complaining.

another quick question. now that bioshock 2 will be coming out, the first will surely drop to a bargain price. just wondering if i liked this will i like that?

Completely different type of game other than they both involve guns and semi deserted places. Bioshock is awesome though. But both have been possibly the 2 best games I've played on the 360.
