I have just given up (3 1/2 days in) and I am beginning to smell what my Computer room must have smelt like to a none smoker. At the same time its making me want a ciggi :)

I have cleaned all the glass with window cleaner, cleaned the carpets with with a carpet cleaner, cleaned all wood a furniture with Jif, cleaned the walls too.

I can still smell it :)

Any recommendation? How about a air purifier? Do they do purifiers that cut down on dust? Cos that would be a bonus for my Computer room as well?

get incent sticks!! those little peices of wood which you light then they give of those nice smells, theres so many to choose just get afew of them and keep them going its nice

you can't apart from remove everything that's been in the room with smokers and repaint.

Febreze might work for a week or two but the smell will comeback

Febreeze and nice smellies (pot potpourri, candles, etc.)

Other then that, you need to leave a few windows open as it will take a while before the smell completely goes.

Long term you'll need to wash your curtains and shampoo your carpet, etc. (If it's really that bad).

it's all in the soft furnishing, the curtains, the carpets, the seats, the lamp shades, everything. get your febreeze on my man, windows open, and one of those "cigarette smell" removal plug ins and leave on full whack

My boyfriends mum uses Neutradol gel air freshener things. I'm not sure if they actually make a difference though, as her house still smells strongly of smoke.

Great stuff. I have a couple of Tesco candles going. Febreezed the floor, and have an Incence thingy on the go. My room now smells like a tarts armpit :)

Thanks for the suggestions.

I got two bottles of fabreze but not fabreze for a pound at Poundland and it works just as well.

Creditcrunchtastic.

Spray liberally on chairs and drapes and the tab honk will soon be condemned to the nostrils of history.

its gonna take more than a few scented candles to knock that smell out.
