Great stuff...

Citylink were ok for me (from OCuk) but rubbish from other retailers (guess it depends on the depots they used)
DHL have been quite frankly bordering on useless tho they were improving... half my orders on next day were atleast 1 day late and the sullen guy with the hired van wasn't exactly inspiring.

Never heard of DPD but hopefulyl they'll be good.

DHL most of the time were OK, however sometimes I had the odd parcel deliverd by un-marked hatchback with kids in back...

You were lucky he had a car. My stuff arrived last week with a guy on foot . Not a van or car in sight. Package was fine and on time though.

Unlike Citylink and DHL, those guy's nearest depots to me are over 20 miles away from me! I sure hope these guys don't screw up any orders of mine as there's no way I'd be able to collect it... Luckily the only courier I've ever had screw up on me is royal mail, who do it on a regular basis.

Citylink were terrible whenever they delivered my goods. It probably varies from region/town but just from those experiences would never recommend them. Glad they have been dropped tbh.

even though i got a tracking email saying :

Ive just ordered some hardware from OcUK yesterday for delivery today, and it seems as though I have the exact same problem as you. I should be able to track my delivery like any other time but when i click on the tracking url from the email, it says on there webpage, No Details Available Even when try and track my delivery by entering the consignment number into there website, all I get is: Consignment Reference could not be found

OcUK says on there email that Consignments will be trackable at DHL's website from approximately 8pm on the day of despatch. My goods where despatched yesterday at 11:21 AM, so it should have be trackible by now.

ignore me my monitor is coming with DPD woot
they are indeed better than DHL lol just phoned them the guy on the phone was polite as hell

he even asked me if i wanted to be put though directly to the driver on the road lol
when i was speaking to the driver i could hear the VAN indecators flashing in the background heh ;D

DPD are great, never had a problem and the drivers are pretty helpful.

CityLink were perhaps the worst, can't tell you how many times I've had to go 20 miles to the depot to pick up packages!

I presume with this that we are back to having the orders delivered at normal times during the day with no chance of delivery in the evening like DHL? Working where I do and not owning a car made DHL seem like a good prospect as I could get a redelivery in the evening.

Huh where do you find a consignment number all I got was my account telling me its been dispatched now I'm nervously waiting to see if they turn up

While I praise OCUK for trying to find the best company to deliver our orders it would be nice to have a choice of more than one courier when placing an order.
Like most people I work mon - Fri 8:30 - 5:00 so there is no way I will ever be home to get my deliveries, as such I rely on the depot being somewhere near so I can collect. Had my order been delivered by DHL I would have to drive 2-3 miles.
As my recent order has been handled by DPD, my nearest depot (according to DPD) is apparently Stoke!!! If I had known this I would have ordered from elsewhere as this is more like a 100mile round trip and I could have just driven to the OCUK shop and got my stuff straight from there.... can't believe I did not get my delivery charge repaid when I called up to complain this morning.
So while I appreciate OCUK striving to make the deliveries more reliable, more thought is needed as my situation is unacceptable.
Its a sorry day for me and all the people who live in my area as OCUK is now no longer an option to buy from. I live in Telford, shropshire btw.

EDIT: I also feel I have been mis-led when I placed my order. As others have stated, when ordering it showed that DHL where the courier and also when I recieved my emails they all stated DHL. At no point during my order process was DPD EVER mentioned. To the point when the missed delivery card came throught the door I had no idea what it was for!!!

Well i was well happy with DHL always came on time and a very friendly delivery lady so i hope these new guys are half as good as the service i got from DHL in south leicestershire because to be honest they have a hard act to follow. Shame i won't be seeing the lady again she really was very pleasant and very punctual apologising once because the parcel was an hour later then she planned to deliver it.
