Why Do People Still Buy Games From STEAM??

I have over 70 games in my Steam account, and not a single one of them rots away. I agree, some people prefer to complete a game and move on, but I like to replay almost every game I own at some point.

And tbh, £10 is peanuts. I'd rather have the chance to replay a game I enjoyed at a later point, than enough cash for a few beers.

70 games x £10 supposed peanuts = £700 very expensive peanuts!!

A really dont like steam. whilst the whole download thing is great, for people like me who don't download games in seconds it sucks!!

i've never gone beyond 200kb rate for steam and for the only game i bought off steam which was 8gb this took all day!! which also meant i couldnt exactly play other games online with a 500ms ping, granted you can leave it over night but you can also do next day delivery for a few quid more which then also see's you getting the game in the same time frame and still for less!!!

plus the fact steam always seems to update itself which is a boring process and wastes 5-10mins etc, by the time its updated i don't wanna play TF2 etc.

I'll be sticking with good old boxes and instruction booklets until am actually forced into using stupid steam because everything has turned to downloads, which i'm hoping won't be for several years. :)

I doubt he paid £10 per game anyhow - Some of the bundles give you about 10 games for not much cash.

In /re to downloads, that sounds like a personal problem. I regularly go above 2MB/second on my 23.5mbit o2 line.

So Steam sucks because.. your connection sucks?

You can say you'd prefer not to use Steam because your connection is awful, but you can't use that as reasoning to say that Steam as an application sucks.

No, he means "A" - anyone who's name begins with a letter A hates Steam.

Strange but true.

talking about selling your games on after you've bored of them mainly single player games.

For example I will buy resident evil 5 once I have completed it probably 3 times or so I would have no desire what so ever to go back to it and would rather sell it on for £10 or so.

Rather than have it sitting redundant in my steam account games list.

70x£10 = £700 worth of sale after you've bored of said games.

I have sold a tonne of pc games over the years and will continue to do so meaning when you buy the actual disc you are paying even less probably 50% of the steam price when you take in to account the resale.

Ah, I didn't know this. I was thinking of buying Steam Q3 just for the ease of having it integrated with Steam and not having to sort through my 7-10 year old Q3 folder files when I wanted to play ;)

Q3 does work, but you gotta disable the Steam Community overlay.

If the price is a good deal for a game that I will play regularly, then Steam is a great option for me. I got too many plastic cases around and wouldn't like more, but I don't think refunds are allowed on Steam so it forces me to be absolutely sure about the game first.

The reason I but games from Steam (or any other digital download service) is that I live in the far reach north of Anglesey and Tesco's in Holyhead don't sell any PC games.
Infact we have a new Morrison's just opened this spring, which sells exciting NEW games such as Pippa Funnel's Stud Farm and the new ground-breaking game fps - Farcry.

I just hate how you can buy a game, find that its a technical cluster bar steward, and you cant get a refund. So youve just paid good money for a game that doesnt work and cant play, brilliant !

Take it back to the shop and tell them you don't agree with the EULA. Worked for me before but i've only done it once

i though when the we got in euro we dont pay VAT but looking at that without VAT we still pay more.

how ever UK get prices lower then country that have to pay in euro i noticed that to.
