Mixing brands of homeplug adapters

I have got a couple of homeplug adapters to route my network through my home electrical wiring. They work brilliantly and I want to buy some more. However the brand I bought have gone up £20 in a month and I can get another brand cheaper. Can i mix and match brands on these things does anyone know?

There wouldn't be any pairing as such. One brand comes off the router and then everything else picks up the network from that.

Any idea how i check?

You CAN mix and match as long as the different adapter follow the same standard (chipset).. I believe you can mix and match speed between 10 (?) and 85, but 200 will not be compatible with anything else. (however I believe they can run alongside each other on the same power lines) Personally I run devolo 200 and sunwise 200 together with no problems what so ever.

Which adapters have you got at the moment? and what are you looking to buy?

Just a tips, you can get bargains off a certain auction website.. I recently bought 2*200mb Devolo AVDesk adapters which retail for around £120, I paid £25. ;) Second hand obviously. A few days later another auction ended at £17 for the same adapter (again 2 of them). Bargain.

I've got these at the moment and am looking to buy anything that would be compatible and cheaper.

URL was stripped from your post, but I think I found the right one on the first guess. :)

"Extra Value 85Mbps Powerline Homeplug Adapter - Twin Pack", right?

The important thing with these adapter is that they are "HomePlug Turbo1.0 compatible", so any new adapters you buy will have to use the same standard..I think this is the "normal" standard to be honest with you.

I dont think you will find any cheaper adapters brand new, the option would go to the auction site (or perhaps 'for sale' on this forum) to look for some second hand adapters.. Get the name of them and google to check the compatibility of them.

You will not be able to mix these with 200Mbps adapters, so you are stuck on this speed - though I think you can use the slower 10mb adapters if speed isnt an issue.
