Picked up the new car :)

Why do you have wrong sized numberplates? They look stupid because they don't fit the gap in the bumper/boot properly, not to mention the legal aspect ;)

That does look smart :) Very nice.

Please get new numberplates though and stick them on ;) The screws make them look naff :(

They were from the 206, all i had at the time so i just put them on instead of buying new plates.

I tried to stick these ones one, but because of the curvature of the front bumper they didn't stick, and the rear has raised parts for the screws to go in, which bends the plate too much, which also means it won't stick!

I'm not sure you've ever paid so many compliments to a car i own... in the same thread too!

At the wheels, or at the ST24's? There was one similar mileage to mine (100k) but 2 years older and in Pepper Red and it was up for £675, total bargain.

Has yours got any rust?

My sister has mine now - one of the arches is going in a really ugly fashion showing horrible ORANGE rust bubbles on the outside of the rear arch, there is rust appearing above the bumper on the rear wing as well. It's beginning to look shabby and I don't really understand why - there are plenty of other mint Mk2's out there I used to clean that thing more times than is healthy. Yours looks completely rot free yet it's the same age

Theres no Surface rust anywhere on the car apart from a VERY small ammount showing through on the lips of the rear arches. Its been there since i bought the car and it hasn't shown any signs of worsening.

I'm going to look for a good rust remedy treatment and paint over it myself, as its in an area that doesnt require it to be a pro looking job (paint surface is not smooth) then i can get away with DIY'ing it.

I'll get some pics of it next time i'm out with the camera.

The car is far from mint, pictures can be decieving.

Very nice. Some straight legal plates will have it looking spot on and it shouldn't need any more fettling.

I cleaned a 51 plate focus this weekend and the rear doors are full of rus at the bottom wheras most around the same age look rot free. Must be a Ford QC thing.

Lol, confusing post by me, i meant st24's.

I rarely say this about aftermarket wheels on "normal" cars, but they look good :)

Shame you can't get the plates to stick on curved bumpers, I don't have a problem with either of mine and theyr'e curved :(

Looking very nice, you've redeemed yourself and more from the turd that was the badly modded Astra :D

Well done!

Hmm, i did kinda make it look a LOT better from when i first picked it up...
