I want to take a look at a specific car (it matters not what it is) but I don't fancy going hundreds of miles to view it. Is it normal / possible for the dealer to transport it somewhere nearer if I ask??

Help me OcUKenobi, you're my only hope! (well, not really...)

Think about it, why would they?
If you want to look at a new sofa DFS won't bring it round for you to have a butchers'.

The reason I ask is that I've tracked this car to three different dealer locations with associated changes in mileage and price so the question just popped into my head, nothing more, nothing less.

I know that if you have your heart set on a specific car and are ready to purchase then dealership will search their network to find that car for you.

If you give them a price too they will also sell it to you for that price. Better yet, make it something rare like VW Golf.

Who remember this one? :D

Strangely enough it was a Golf I was looking for at the time and the dealer had just gotten one delivered from another part of the dealership but it was in a state, a quick check on the computer showed that they had 2 others in Southport and Wigan which the salesman offered to have in his showroom the next day if I was interested.

I found my old Accord at a dealer 50 miles away so my local dealer (same group of companies) rang them up and got them to put it on a transporter and 2 days later it was ready for me to test drive.
