Watched The Great Escape at the cinema on Monday :D

I didn't but I can imagine it was awsome.

This has made me think what other films I would love to be able to see on the big screen

Jaws
Aliens
Rocky
HEAT (Probably my favourite film and would love to see it on the big screen again)
Braveheart
2001

Anyone think of any more?

I love it when they show old films at the cinema, I went with my Dad years ago to see It's a Wonderful Life, to say it was awesome would be an understatement!

would love to be able to see saving private ryan again on big screen, and maybe lotr trilogy as didn't go to see them in cinema

Saw a digital projection of a new restoration of The Dam Busters last year.

No matter how big your screen - being at the cinema beats it.

Have you guys seen the trailer for the documentary on 4, looks awesome they dig and find the tunnel exit, got POW come and talk and make mock ups and the like. Love the film, love the story and this looks really good.

Digging the Great Escape(History Documentary,2011)
Monday, November 28th, 2011 on
Channel 4 from 9:00pm to 10:35pm

This fascinating programme brings back to life the incredible story of the Great Escape, immortalised by Hollywood, and internationally famous as an extraordinary example of human courage and ingenuity. It follows a team of engineers, archaeologists, and serving RAF officers who have gathered on the site of Stalag Luft III, the supposedly escape-proof POW camp, with an extraordinarily ambitious plan: to excavate for the first time ever the remains of 'Harry', the tunnel from which 76 allied airmen escaped on the night of 24 March 1944. It took a year to dig the tunnel and for nearly 70 years Harry - and with it the final secrets of the remarkable story of the Great Escape - have remained undisturbed.
(Editor's Choice, Subtitles)

I watched Ghostbusters and Back to the Future in the cinema back to back :D

They used some old original reels though, so there was a lot of visual mess on the screen!

Heat was amazing on the big screen. Especially the shoot-out outside the bank. The sound was fantastic!
