Basically, WMP12 (Windows 7 build 7000) doesn't seem to like my 32GB worth of music. It's only displaying a fraction of all my music from my Music folder.

It's utterly frustrating in that sense as I quite like WMP's way of displaying my music list and album art, sync with my windows mobile is also a doodle - but with missing music, it's quite pointless.

Winamp can read ALL my music from my folder, so what is wrong?

Could try delete the database...

Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Index

Should be around there somewhere (you should be able to just delete everything) and it will be recreated when you next load WMP12. Then try adding the media again.

I'm on windows 7 - been hunting it up and down for document settings or something remotely media index but none found...

I've also added all my music via drag and paste into the player, it spend awhile loading it all in then after a restart, it's gone :/

In windows 7/vista docs and settings is called 'users'

Cheers... I've got myself to

C:\Users\Colin\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player

And now I cannot delete 'CurrentDatabase_371' - which I assume is the database? It's being used by my shared media...

Edit:
Just did a restart and it didn't work. I cannot delete this file.
