Through our company we had the opportunity to run up the 811 steps of the BT Tower in central London on tuesday this week in aid of Red Nose Day "Do something funny for money".

All was set and i was ready until we heard that medical certs were required and as my GP refused to waive the £50 fee for what was essentialy taking my blood pressure I had to drop out. Come the day and I was approached to take some agency shots of the event, so managed to bunk off work half day and also take the lift to the 34th floor to shoot our team emerge at the top.

A fantastic effort for those that took on the challenge for the charity. As a huge bonus I got to spend time looking over London from a very unique point of view. Thought i'd share a few scenic shots from the day.

Reminds me how sadly lacking we are in the country for skyscrapers. Ours are naff compared to the states or far east. Even France has more impressive buildings than we do. Bout time someone pulled their finger out if you ask me. Good pics mind, lucky with the mist.

number 3 has something which draws me in, nice shot.

what sort of processing did you carry out on these? :)

I used Lightroom, desaturated some colours, applied a gradient netural filter to the sky and then tweaked the curves a little. Trial and error really, but i might make it a preset should I do more like this in the future.

I really like #3... I think it shows just how smoggy London is :p

I guess but then again tuesday was nice and overcast with some scattered showers. Definately not a shot for the tourist board :p

Excellent shots :)

I really like the processing aswell.

Thank you... I was after a sort of Doomsday feel

Shame really london has such strict planning legislation so that you cant building anything tall in areas x y and z cos it might obscure the view of St Pauls Cathedral ;)

Great shots! Whats BT tower like, i need to go there for my apprentice graduation in a couple of years time :)

That will change in the next 2-3 years! Heron Tower is going up just up from Liverpool St (it's going up fast too), Pinnacle just up the road from that which will be immense! Leadenhall building just opposite where I work too!

Great pics by the way Oxygen!

Fantastic views of course but rest of the landing/gallery is just like any other office. Not much to rave about really... the lift is fantastic though as it clocks the speed of descent from the 35th floor. It was fast enough to make your ears pop!

Thanks... I do like the skyline as it is currently over London... I can just see those chimney sweeps at work :)
I'm looking to head over the Canary Wharf next Monday (day off) for some modern fun in the capital.

Brilliant photos.

Cheers Trick, very kind. Thanks.
