Most grpaphically intensive games...

Most graphically rewarding games?

ie, decent fps and look good too..

Hardware >>> Games, atm. I've been waiting for a good excuse to upgrade for aggesss but there just hasn't been one .

This is partly because of the aging console technology. Games which are ported tend to be designed for the current generation whereas the PC technology is already ahead.

farcry 2 is nothing to my pc....my pc eats it at a constant 60fps with full eveything including antialiasing....res 1920*1080..even in multiplayer its the same...crysis however with the same settings i get 30-40 fps at the best..crysis is a pc killer :)

Definitely, and I'd say Left4Dead. The Source engine is old now, but the outdoor lighting and animation is particularly good for the overhead IMO.

GTA 4 it needs about 5 billion gig of video memory to run at max settings :D

i wish they'd hurry up and patch gtaiv to recognise sli/xfire or dual gpu cards you could probably max it out pretty easily with a gtx295 or 4870x2 or 2 gtx280s if that ever happens. if they add anti alias support though that would probably buckle even those cards at max settings heheh

Everquest 2, i know 5 years old or so old but would really like someone to run it all cranked up at high resolutions, toss in custom AA and AF and see if they get a playable framerate. Bad game engine but really cripples your cpu.

the only game that stops my rig maxing everything out with 50+ framerates is flight simX

crysis maxed out hovers around 50 with everything up [dx9 mode]

playing at 1900*1200

about GTA4...
not intensive, just poorly coded and poorly converted. if done correctly its a piece of pie

exactly - if a Playstation can run it, then most recent pc systems should be fine - the fact that its not shows what a bad job they did

The Hunter doesnt come with adware or anything btw. Theres a small launcher plugin but you'll only see that when launching [Captin Obvious].

Whether a game is poorly coded or not is pretty irrelevant, that doesn't change the fact that it is demanding, and usually will still scale with faster hardware.

HL2 with cinematic mod is one of the best I think when it comes to FPS*Bling rating

How does GTA4 run on xbox360 if it runs poo on PCs?

360 cpu, iirc, 3 IBM cpu's, each has a three cores @ 3.3 each core. That's a lot of processing power. Some peoples PCs 'only' have maybe a dual running at less than 3.0 per core. Big difference. Easier job to make titles for a uniform standard setting like the console and as I remember GTA4 on the 360 will still have some slow downs at various points too. :)

The GTA4 BASHING that a lot of people on this forum have contributed to somewhat annoys me, as it is exactly for these sort of reasons that devs won't bother with pc, as they just get loads of hassle off people.
If I recall a Q6600 is a 'recomended ' system requirement, thus I suspect most of the people moaning have 'superclocked' dual cores hence why they get arsey when the game runs poorly. Quad-core is RECOMENDED.
The game runs brilliantly for me with a Q6600 at stock speed, 8800gtx and I added 2 gig extra ram (I believe the game recomend's 3 gig for vista) and the game runs brill with all settings at 60(view distance etc) and textures on medium, which still lokks great IMO. If you use the 'definition' toggle then jaggies are minimul, game looks superb to my eyes.
If you have quad-core the game runs great this is why it is recomended.
