Most grpaphically intensive games...

You want something that will bring your mighty PC to it's knees, quivering and trembling and begging for mecrcy?

MSFS9.

I guarantee you I can point you to a raft of add-ons that will give you single figure frame rates, and in places a slide show.

Don't get why people are saying GTA IV, it's not graphically demanding it just wants CPU power.

It also looks pretty crap, the lack of AA and the horrible shadows make it look pretty awful.

If you use the 'definition' toggle then jaggies are minimul, game looks superb to my eyes.

lol

Definition makes the game a blurry mess, objects and buildings in the distance actually appear to tremble when you are moving.

It still doesn't mask the terrible shadows and the jaggies are still there.

Whats so hilariously funny? The game looks pretty damn good to me pal on a 8800gtx oc2.
It's a console game, what are you expecting it to look like? considering how massive the environments are/how much is going on/the fact that you can interact with any car, person etc/zero loading times between city's/ I think it looks pretty damn good!!
With the recomended spec it looks miles better than the console version, has far superior view distance and texture detail and the FPS is consistant and much better than the console versions. All in all it's a good advert for the pc not a negative one!! (providing you meet the 'recomend' spec of course.)

How do I suspect you are one of those people who have a superclocked dual core and maybe an ATI gfx card. GTA4 is one of the most impressive games on the PC IMO that out of any game period.
*Check out some of MRK's scrennies if you dispute this.*
LOL my ars*.

the only game that stops my rig maxing everything out with 50+ framerates is flight simX

Yeah, infact I'd have to agree there. Not a big fan of flight sims but I play them from time to time and I get higher FPS in Crysis than FSX!!! But FSX does seem fairly badly coded, I struggle for 35fps+ with AA. Crysis is about 40...

Lost Planet is/was a bit of a hog and looks great.

Company of Heroes DX10 maxed out is quite impressive and demanding.

I'd suggest either Empire Total War or M2TW since you can up the graphics to max and have up to 10,000 units on screen at any given time so you're bound to witness some pretty epic battles.

Just imagine the cannons firing, horsemen charging, swordsmen slashing and archers slinging. I've had some amazing battles as a veteran player, all very cinematically intense.

ETW If you zoom down to ground level on high settings a big battle gives any rig a good stressing.
thousands of men, individually simulated/modelled bullets, smoke effects, HDR, halo effects etc.. My Q6600+GTX280 slows down mightily under all that.

Of course crysis is still the biggy. Top settings and resolutions will kill pretty much any "normal" gamer machine.

No love for Unreal Tournament 3?
It's a beautiful game, yet Epic always code their engines very efficiently, so it could probably run at medium settings on a warm rock.

GTA4 was a hog of a game. The popup alone caused me enough grief lol.

why are people saying GTA 4? its not graphically intensive, its just pure ****

graphics are pathetic and its a rubbish port, 5 year old games like BF2 are a LOT better graphics then gta4

crysis is you best bet, stunning looking game, cod4 also but its not to intensive,GRID absolute stunning looking game, mirrors edge wasn't bad but a boring game, hawx on dx10 is stunning,DMC4 is stunning

and there's new games just around the corner what should be amazing looking
