World's Steepest Rollercoaster - in Britain!

so unsafe...

What's so unsafe about it?

Any theme park obviously wants a safe ride. If someone got hurt then the ride would be closed, causing downtime, loss of profits, bad publicity etc, I'd expect it has been thoroughly tested and built to last.

Personally it doesn't look that bad to me, pretty much like oblivion but above ground. Looks like quite a short ride too.

Theme park rides are categorically safer than almost anything else you could do, they are engineered to give the 'illusion' of fear, this is what gives people the big smiles, if you take away the illusion (such as if you faked a ride failure, which they have tried..) then you take away the fun and people just get upset.

Your statistically more likely to die walking round the park than on the actual rides

Looks the same as Sheikra In Busch Gardens? How steep is that? Its chuffing awesome.

90 degrees, 200ft drop.

All im going to say is Final Destination 3.

hmm might have to make the trip down there for that one, looks sweet, pretty similar to 'speed' at oakwood park in pembrookshire though

Speed is wicked - we had the place pretty much to ourselves one wet day a couple of years ago and had several runs back to back. Awesome stuff!

I'm more of a fan of speed, twists and loops rather than straight drops.. it's gotta be better than Oblivion though...

It was on the newspaper last night, when Johnathan Ross went on it for a ride, and it got stuck for 15 minutes.

A bit strange that a 112 degree drop is considered to be steeper than a 100 degree drop. Where will it end?

"Worlds steepest rollercoaster - now with 180 degree drop!" -> you just sit upside down for 2 minutes then the thing trundles back to the start.
