Does anyone have a good means / colour profile for Windows 7 so that I can fix this overly bright display I currently have under boot camp?

The screen looks quite washed out and not sure how to go about correcting things....

If it's overly bright, have you tried changing the screen's brightness using the keyboard or Boot Camp's control panel? :p

Ha, yes I know how to change brightness thank you very much :p

It's a problem with the naff screen that Apple use in the macbook- but am hoping by calibrating it / using a better profile I can correct it somewhat.

What's it like in OS X? Anyway I thought that the new screen weren't that bad (or indeed quite good) at least compared to the old WhiteBook?

It's better in os x but I have now replaced the colour profile and it's now even better (I don't think the apple one is up to stratch).

In windows though it's a bit of a nightmare - just doesn't look right. I think it's mainly a problem with backlight bleed (seems the bottom of the screen is a lot lighter than the top) but generally it is washed out. Something I hope someone here can help me fix!

in Win7, go to personalise, then (on the menu bar on the left) click "display" at the bottom, then select "Calibrate colour" and change the Gamma to suite :)
