9800 GTX+ and 250 GTS

Thx, these cards are the limit of my friends budget to replace his broken 2900 XT. I've seen a 9800 GTX+ for the same price as a GTS 250. It's about £1 cheaper and has 3 years warranty as apposed to 12months on the GTS 250. I'd prefer to get the 250 GTS because like you said its smaller, but the extra warranty might be nice for peace of mind.
 
Hehe. I must admit I didn't think about a 4850... He's currently using one of my 4870's, so it would only be a small step down. Hmmm decisions, decisions.
 
I'd go for a cheap 9800GTX+ if you have the room in your case. Despite the re branding, the actual G92 is a pretty good chip to have survived so long. Look 9800GTX+ and have fun overclocking it. I loved my old 8800GT :D
 
Well if I was going to get a card right now (for myself) it wouldn't be either 4850 or 9800 GTX+ - His budget doesn't stretch that far though, but I want to make sure he gets some decent warranty this time. I'll make a decision over the weekend I guess.
