ive been having a look at some of the photos posted here... and theyve really got me inspired to get out there and start taking some myself :D

for the past few days i've been looking around jessops & other photography forums and a few cameras have caught my eye such as the d450, d1000 & d60

also, would it be better to get a camera close to the end of my budget such as the d450 with and 18-55 lens or the cheaper d1000/d60 with an extra Tamron 70-300mm lense?

a push in the right direction would be really appreciated!! ;)

Think you mean Canon 450D 1000D & Nikon D60 ;)

450D is good entry level DSLR as also is the 1000D best to get them in your hands and have a play. And always best to have good glass on your camera so I would invest in a that ahead of a better body and poor glass. :)

If you're buying new then a totally recommend the 450D. I bought one at the beginning of December and haven't regretted it for one second.

trouble is with going second hand for your first camera how would you know if somethih wasn't working correctly on it? i guess the same can be said for brand new but more likely you'd get a brand new one that was working fine. i have just ordered a brand new 450d (took me ages to click submi) with the standard lens for now until i get some more money. i did look into second hand ones but it's too worrying that i'll end up getting something which is faulty and not know.

i did buy a faulty 450d....lucky it was new so i got it replaced.

but i did what a couple of other posters have suggested and bought the 450d and will get a better lens when and if i need one.
