LOL!
If it's a "thing" that you guys do, I've known some people to simply enjoy eating out as friends, (lulz), but generally speaking, if a guy asks a girl out to dinner, then they're romantically interested in them. (this is speaking from experience of having some guy who is clearly interested in my girlfriend pester her to go out to dinner with him/have him cook dinner for her)
why confuse the poor soul....just invite her straight to bed.

Generally, if you ask her out to dinner and pay then it's a date. If you ask if she fancies getting some food and you each pay for yourselves then it's not. Even that's not a set rule though

Agreed, I'm a girl, if a bloke asks you out, its usually because he wants to get to know you better. Or as it has already been suggested, you're just good friends and going out to dinner would be nothing out of the ordinary.
Equally don't go straight to bed from food...But not on an empty stomach.
