Utorrent Speeds....

nothing wrong with the isp, usd to get 200-300 kbs when wireless, now im wired utorrent not working properly but im dloading 7mb everywhere else.

From what ive wrote on another forum for more info

PORT is OK! so thats good

i have a huwei HG520s router, anything i should do on the DHT Nat pages or anything, ive portforwarded it on portforward.com btw and the port is open, just enquring.
======================================

Hi im having major problems with my utorrent.

My ISP = TalkTalk
Speedtest = 7.5MB
Port 13456 = Open according to utorrent etc
have a green tick
Enable upnp and Nat = Disabled
firewall exception on
enable dht network and for new torrents = deticked
legacy connections deticked but outgoing encyption ticked

*Stupid Of Me But i followed an advanced settings on youtube, hasnt made it better or worse i think but it would be great if someone can give me some recommended settings for an 8mb connection or the default advanced settings back.

This picture shows i am connected to over 100 seeders on some torrents, a little while later im connected to over 50 on all of them, some still 100 seeders etc etc......so nothing wrong with me finding the trackers and stuff, but the speeds are terrible. 1 torrent sometimes lingers around 30 kbs then goes to 5 kbs and now theyre all at 5-10 kbs, its horrendeous im pulling my hair out here so some1 please help me

Your Sincerely
Nabil.

I've not read that yet, but you should blank out those filenames.

edit: well, if you have the tick then your connection is getting out. So, the only probably solution is that your ISP is limiting your traffic severely.

The fact that you've got 9 downloads going at the same time won't help will it? I normally limit downloads to 2 maybe 3 at any 1 time and queue the others up.

well im now getting 50 kbs for my top download an improvement tbh, but somethings still not right i should be getting 400-500kbs.

No, for public torrents that sounds right. But you may see some improvement but not much, record I've seen for a public torrent is 500kb/sec and that was for a 100mb tv serie ep... On private I easily max out my connection though.
Try to get into a good private torrent site if you want normal speeds.
Also have you set your max upload to about 70% of what it does when unlimited? High upload really really limits your dl speed.
Oh and Nabz, blanc out the download names, a lot of anti pirate whiners on this forum :), if they see that pic they will come after you with their keyboards :D.

Thats rubbish unless he's using a silly low amount of max connections, with public the rule is generally the more you add the faster your total download speed is...

A friend of mine was having the same problem for months (he is with BT) but when i invited him to revolutiontt his download speeds went through the roof. I myself have had trouble in the past using private trackers but not to the same extent as you are having. Also do you use peer gaurdian 2 as my friend installed this around the same time i invited him to revolution and it can stop various anti-P2P organisations tracking what your IP address is downloading. It is just a thought but if your ISP knows you are downloading torrents they may throttle your connection, big brother is watching you :eek:

Just to let you know i have a 10 meg connection i get 1200 kb/s when using Utorrent so you should be getting at least 700kb/s

k any recommendations on the pivate site, pm me if u want. deleted the pic also.

If your ISP is throttling then it's pretty much gameover, switch ISP's. When I was with BT they throttled all non-HTTP traffic to 20 kb/s during peak times which was most of the day, bang on 1:00 am the speed would rocket to max. ISP's can throttle specific traffic easily so you might get 700 kb/s from a website but your torrents would be throttled.

If you don't upload your speeds will remain awful, because the faster you share the faster you download (effectively).

Be careful.. advertising for warez on the forums is generally frowned upon :p.

indeed, especially after posting his email for all to see.

If I were bored enough, I'd sign him up for all sorts of spam :p
