Even if you remove your card and bank details from paypal, can't they still get the money back from your bank account as they keep your bank details anyway, regardless of whether your account is open or not.?
I can only presume they'd chase me through debt collections and it's just not worth the hassle, compared to what it could do to my credit rating.
This is why you tell your bank not to release any money to Paypal, and that any attempt by said company is a fraudulent transaction.
And this kind of attitude is why Paypal will never improve.
You're just going to let this guy "roll you over" because you're too worried about what Paypal will do? Well why don't you go have a Google around as to what PP actually do to try and recover their funds. Because as I said, they can't and won't be able to do anything.
The worst you'll likely get is some company come to your door. But as also said, they can't come in as they need legal warrants to do that. PP also can't affect your credit rating as they'll have to go through court. This costs them money and they wouldn't win the case anyway as their policies are ridiculous and easy to expose.
If you just go along with this you'll most likely end up losing the money, and Paypal will never improve. It needs people to start sticking two fingers up to them.
I think that was the joke he was getting at!

You have to remove your cards from paypal.
There's no money in my paypal account, can they still take it off my card (if I go negative balance) or will they just harass me for the payment?
Just sent this:
I am not a business, so this was the only processor I have, removed from my old desktop machine in fully working condition. Unless there was significant damage to the packaging there is no way this kind of damage to the processor could have occurred during shipping. This means it can only have happened after the package has been opened and if you did not touch the processor yourself, then the shop you took it to has caused the damage and your recourse is with them. I cannot afford to pay for other peoples mistakes. I am happy for you to send the processor to me for further inspection, but if the damage is as described, I will not be able to issue a refund to you. If you feel the damage occurred during shipping then you are able to claim for the full amount through the insurance covered by royal mail special delivery (up to £500), providing you retain the original packaging, this is detailed on www.royalmail.com. If you choose this course of action, I will endeavour to help you in any way I can. However before you return it and in an effort to resolve this, can you send me some clear pictures of the processor top (including unique serial number as shown in the auction) and bottom(including damage) and also pictures of the cpu in the open packaging as you received it? Please send these pictures (as clear as possible) to <email> . This will help if any claim needs to be made.
Best Regards,
Trying to stay on their good side for now..
harass you for the payment. But they won't be able to recover it.
If they are persistent you just pop over to MSE forums and get a letter template to send to Paypal telling them to leave you alone or you'll start harassment proceedings. That'll do it.
Yep, excellent email. Let's see what his response is. I'd get those cards unlinked right away though, as I don't think it'll be a positive one.
