So here it is Chrissy your offical parp to start cleaning up cell 50 and get ready to move back downstairs
I should be taking possesion by Monday Morning.

Oh no! I didnt actually see this... grr! I figure i have about 2/3 days to go, which isnt great, but i'll do my best to catch up.

You might want to bring some air freshner - i think something died in here and its stinking up the place! Oh, and bottled water is a must...

Actually my good sir, i have yet to consume a pot noodle, and plan to keep it this way for some time! Your EOC graph indicates i may have less time than i previously thought - i really need someone to launch an aftermarket GTX280 cooler in the UK!

I know, and its quite tempting, but also isnt cheap! I have never swapped the cooler on a gfx card before, so would be a little afraid of killing the thing! In all honesty i think it will have to wait until the summer when uni is done and i have time to mess around with the computer. Depending on circumstances im planning an upgrade, so will hopefully be able to unleash a (quiet!) folding beast, if only for a few days every now and then! Worst comes to the worst, i'll still have the current machine to kcik out some points - there is potential for nearly 14K per day, which never gets fully unleashed due to the noise!

And also electricity costs...

Im torn between getting another 9800 gx2 or a full cover water block for the one i have.

By the looks of things in the stats i might be moving in earlier either late Sat or early Sun

I hate leaving the card's fans on auto because it gets quite a lot hotter than id like - nvidia are happy to let it reach 85C before even a mild fan adjustment kicks in. I think i may set it back to auto for a while, after all if it breaks its hardly my fault! I tried some fan profiles with rivatuner but it really doesnt seem to like the drivers im using and wants driver signing to be turned off all the time, and tbh thats a pain.

The card is by far and away the noisiest part of the pc - i have a lian-li a17 with lots of fans, which make a nice, gentle 'swoosh' noise, but the fan on the card is really harsh to my ears. I have to sleep in the same room as the PC and im a light sleeper, so leaving the pc on at night is a big no-no for me. I would like to replace the cooler, but as i say its expensive and id rather not risk killing my pc when i have work to do!

EDIT: ^^ That choice is easy... it begins with 9 and ends with 800GX2!

I had to move my hard drive rack around as both the GTX280 and the GX2 were both long enough to prevent me plugging in the sata power connectors - i badly need a bigger case, and to a lesser extent some more HDDs.

Well, i have a bit of a headache this morning, but nothing that cannot be fixed by seeing all the points the pc chruned out over night. Sod sleep this weekend, you sir have a fight on your hands!

For this weekend only...

Hehe... This PC is capable of some serious points, but i never give it the opportunity. I shoved some cotton wool in my ears, set the fans to auto and slept through the noise, and will do so again tonight. Leaving the PC on rather than turning it 'not on' gives quite a bit more on the points front. (Other forum member + flatmate) ChrissyC87's 9800GTX+ would lend some much appreciated extra firepower, but i think i'll just stick to the one machine...

Must resist the urge to spend my remaining student loan on another card to fold on...

I feel myself being torn in different directions...! Want to play the new Total War, but... must... fold!

I know the feeling ive not tested this GX2 in gaming yet and have a few games i want to try to see the difference from the old sli config i had

But the team is falling behind and we need all the pionts we can get
