You might as well blame Japan then, if they hadn't invaded Korea beforehand then the US and Russia wouldn't have needed to divide it up post-WW2.

Doesnt work that way im afraid..Japans invasion wasnt what split korea, the US ignoring the korean political groups because of their insane paranoia about communism. Then inviting Russia into korea to accept the japanese surrender...and THEN disarming the south koreans and leaving.

Nor does any western soldier need to fight really - we have enough missiles and bombs to destroy place without setting troops on ground.

Nothing so far, and it's pretty likely nothing will come of it. North Korea has played up like this before.

It should be noted, the invasion of NK would probably be the right thing to do - I've a feeling the majority of those anti-war types haven't read up on the atrocities NK doles out on its people on a daily basis - concentration camps, rapes, murders, mass starvation... I could go on. If a person transgresses, no matter how minor it may be, his/her entire family is sent to the camps, and killed off either by simple rape and shooting, or being overworked in the mines. I could go on all day.

North Korea is pretty much a modern-day holocaust - but nowhere near as concentrated (it's generally systematic abuse across the entire country) and not as obvious due to the juche isolationist idealogy NK has. I think it's pretty amazing and shocking how it is so little known that NK is in a nutshell one of the most depraved and ****ed up countries in the world. It isn't just a 'we're doing economically poor and people are starving' situation. Kim Jong Il isn't just some crackpot figurehead for Americans to make silly movies of. As far as evil despots go, he's the crème de la crème.

I had no idea the place was like that. How come we don't hear about this much? Is everything blanked out to the World or are they so mad, everyone keeps clear?

They do a shockingly good job of keeping everyone out. That's basically it. North Korea really is a truly isolated country in its own bubble. The people of North Korea (the ones that aren't being shot, raped or overworked to death) genuinely believe they are the advanced people of the Earth, and that every other country is technogically and culturally inferior. They even think Kim Jong Il doesn't even go to the toilet, and that he can control the weather with his fingertips. They think he can do hole-in-ones at golf. The propaganda machine over there is incredibly intense, and anyone who steps out of line or questions Kim Jong Il is simply put, 'disposed of'.

I never said you "destroy the population", you target the government, leaders, military people and installations and other key things - king of like "shock and awe" but actually done properly.
You reduce the country's infrastructure / government to rubble while trying to avoid targeting civilians witht he bombs directly - you then allow the people to rebuild the country and offer them assistance provided they don't go down the same path again.

Ok...Please show me some links which talk about all these people being raped to death in NK...a holocaust?

Lots of people are dying in NK but primarily from starvation..Something we could help with..

Yes Kim is a nutjob but hes no hitler. Yes he kills of enemies of the state, but hes not into the whole genocide thing. Crime is punished severely but again, thats nothing to put him at the top of the psycho hall of fame.
