People that can eat and eat and not put on a pound

This is quite funny/silly but the main things that annoy me in life are food related. I get annoyed by kids that don't want to eat after having played for hours (when I was a kid, I loooooved food; still do).

The other thing that annoys me are people that can eat regular meals a day and many snacks in between, yet never put on weight! :o
So I just wanted to know - what is it that allows them to do this? What makes their metabolism so high?
 
yeah but those people also often have problems gaining weight...gaining muscle and the like..

being skinny ftl.
 
trust me its not nice being bullied at school because you are so skinny but thats life i suppose.

i was like this until about 25. then i started to balloon. im 13.5 stones now.

I am sloth personified and I ate an entire 375g strawberry gateau over Saturday and Sunday.

Where does it all go?
 
I eat 3 meals a day, and normally about 2/3 bags of crisps, few chocolate bars or any other rubbish I can find lying around the house, 3 or 4 take a ways a week and at least 3 fried breakfasts a week and I am still skinny. Life is good.

Its the snacks that keep the metabolism high. Also thin doesn't necessarily mean healthy

argh you've got me worried now.. I'm 25 and have been 5' 11"/10.5st for probably 10 years.
 
im 5.8ft had a accident went down to 5.10 stone, went to 8 stone, try every thing to put weight back on, now been going gym 'see it eat it' diet now 11 stone, aiming for 13 stone by sumer
 
It's not good. I've been trying to put on weight for the last 5 or so months and it's very hard. Although I've made progress, if my motabolism wasn't so high I'd make much more progress. This includes eating around 4-6 eggs with a big bowl of porridge every morning. Having at least 4 meals during the day. I've also started lifting weights and drinking protein with milk and thats helping a lot.
 
Possibly opening a can of worms here, but I get annoyed when people complain about their metabolism. I put on weight quite easily, others do not.

At the end of the day, you have to play with the cards you are dealt. Fast metabolism and trying to bulk up? Eat a bit more. Trying to cut the chub but it requires extreme dieting? Just exercise more. Complaining isn't going to solve anything. I find it frustrating at times when I struggle to cut fat, but there is absolutely no point in comparing yourself to anyone else. We are all different, after all.

Completely agree but in my opinion its a lot harder to stuff your face when theres no more room in your stomach and to keep it going for a long period of time, rather than not eating as much.
 
Sorry, I've never complained or moaned to anyone about it. It's a sort of guilty annoyance that I keep to myself. I just started this thread to find out more about the subject.

i find it a lot easier to stuff my face when there's no more room in my stomach and keep it going for a long period of time (15 years and counting), rather than not eating as much :o

I tried bulking up for a week, felt ill trying to eat that much food, even spread out. Not really bothered now. :p

Might be the case for you lol but i find it really hard to keep eating around 3500 cals a day. Theres the time issue aswell I have work and uni and never have the time to eat as much as i need.
