Hi guys and girls,

I am starting up as a sole trader and I am trying to design some leaflets and business cards. I have come up with a logo concept but I’m struggling to make it look professional but still 'local'. I’m useless with Photoshop and spent a few hours doing this in word.

If anyone could take the idea and fiddle with it I would greatly appreciate it!

I'll have a play later for you if I remember. If you can attract Nimzicki's attention he always comes up with a professional finish.

If you can, do this in Illustrator, it's far better for logo work as you really want to be using vectors rather than pixels. Paths in photoshop are just not as useable as they are in illustrator. ;)

What's a Plumder?

It is what Plumbers used to be called ie 'Plumbarius' and also rhymes with Plunder.

'Wikipedia'
The word plumber dates from the Roman Empire. [1] In Roman times, some roofs were made of lead, or plumbum in Latin (hence the periodic table of the elements symbol of 'Pb' for lead). Lead roofs were waterproof, and the workers on such roofs were what are now called "plumbers". Roman baths later used lead for piping and for the main baths. [2] Thus, a person with expertise in working with lead was known as a Plumbarius, eventually shortened to plumber. [3]

how NOT to do it:

Happened to be wanting to try that Liquid Text thing, and this thread was here. I my head that makes it look like you've urinated your name on the floor or something.

Oh, and its rubbish :P
