I am currently about to sell a X-Fi soundcard.
I'm 99% sure that what I purchased a few years ago was:

X-Fi ExtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro - PCI

I have taken a picture of the actual card here:

Sorry about the quality - not the greatest of cameras to hand.
The issue I have is that on the card, in the top left corner it says "Model SB0460".
When I search against this information it seems to tell me that this is an ExtremeMusic.
Now I'm sure this card isn't one of those.

If you look at the image, in the top right corner there is a plastic cap with X-Fi printed on.
This doesn't appear on the ExtremeMusic cards.
I'm just a little confused by the model number on the card.

Can anyone confirm or definitely say no to this card being an X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro?

Thanks.

Hmm after researching a little I think it actually is a X-Fi ExtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro.

Looks the same I think.

im gonna agree with Dakotacs pic as above but, accordin to creatives model number search it 'should' be:

either:
X-Fi Platinum SB0460
X-Fi XtremeMusic SB0460

the X-Fi ExtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro model number comes back as : SB046A / SB0466
lol im confuzzled :S

It is a little confusing.
My picture and the far better one in the first reply would indicate it is the Fatal1ty Pro - the heatsink and the plastic bit in the top-right.
It's just this model number printed on the board that worries me.

I'll see if I can plug it into one of the machines here at work and confirm its status.

Just plugged it into an XP machine here.
Under Device Manager it is simply listed as "Creative SB X-Fi".

I'll see if DXDIAG gives any further information.

DXDIAG alas gives me little information too:

Name: SB X-Fi Audio [1000]
PCI\VEN_1102DEV_0005SUBSYS_002c1102REV_0

*Wishes he'd kept the original box now*

Looks just like the SB046A to me - must be a typo (very odd)
But the stock image has the x-ram rotated 90degrees - might be an early card
then again that rainforest place has there image as yours.... (the plot thickens)
edit: as does wiki/X-Fi

I've a 460 and it's just like inph's link above - but with a HS on the chip.

just found this tip on another forum with a simular topic

SB0460 = PCB revision, to know the actual model of ur card, ALWAYS look at the sticker behind it

When plugged in, if it's the Fatal1ty, there'll be a red lit up Fatal1ty logo on the top right plastic bit (where it's got X-Fi).

I would say it most likely is an XtremeGamer Fatal1ty, as I have one myself and it looks about right :p

Interesting.

The SB0460 on the front is screen printed on to the PCB.
On the back of the card there is a sticker.
On this sticker once again it says:
Model Number: SB0460

However the serial number for this device is:
MASB046A642R01567B

So I wonder if this part of the serial number is indicating its true identity.

There is indeed a red light-up logo at the top corner where the plastic cube is.
So I think I'm now pretty convinced this is the Fatal1ty.

Thanks all for your help.
