Trying to decide between:

GTX260 - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-008-ZT
and
Dell 2209WA - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-032-DE

Comes to about £370

OR

BenQ FP241W 24" (can't link, competitor) - £310
and
Asus 4670 - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-175-AS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1274

Comes to about £370

Now, I really want a 24" screen, and I also want a really good one. The NEC and Ultrasharp are out of my price range, and the BenQ has some really good reviews. I know it's an old panel, but it still seems to rank among some of the best.

I may decide to start gaming, but it's not a prerequisite, more of an "on the side" thing. The main reason I'm asking this is because I'm unsure if I should buy a good GPU now, and upgrade my screen later, or buy a better screen now and upgrade the GPU later.

The latter is more cost effective, and seems less of a waste if/when I upgrade (I know, I know, I could dual screen, but I don't like the idea of two different sized screens). Plus, if I ever decide I don't want to bother gaming, I won't have bought a GPU I won't use.

Can you offer some insight and help me decide? Would it be a better decision to wait until the 23" E-IPS screen comes out?

The SM2433BW is a TN panel. If I'm going for a 22"+, I would prefer to stay away from those (which is why I chose the E-IPS 22").

if you can up your budget i highly 100% recommend the NEC pro Gameing monitor 24"
its outstanding. AMPV pannel.

I wish I could, I really do. Perhaps it's worth waiting for the £80 more... I keep changing my mind and it's slowly getting more and more expensive, something's gotta give soon.

BenQ G2400WD for an awesome (and low price) 24" monitor. It's going for £220~ on competitors.

Got mine a month or so ago and can't recommend it enough (for PC/PS3 gaming and DVD/Bluray).
