Just got my ass handed to me on a plate by a...

Incredible performance. Hideous car.

I bet half of the tossers driving them don't have legal insurance on their modifications either.

You'll more than likely find that those who spend a fortune on modifications are more likely to insure them properly as opposed to Kev in his chav rotbox which has a bolted on a bean can exhaust and venoms, who quite probably won't bother to declare them.

I understand, but converting a (quite frankly) crap car into a monster that hits the 62mph mark in around 5-5.5 seconds is going to STING on the insurance.

It quite probably is but it doesn't mean the guy isn't coughing up. Plus there are a lot of companies out there now who insure mods reasonably cheaply. Modifying cars these days is far more common than it used to be and the market has adjusted with it.

Oh, and it's only a crap car in your opinion. The owner is obviously quite fond of it.

My opinion stands. I suppose if you can't afford a real performance car and want something to have fun in then it's great, amazing value for money. I'd still rather have the OP's car though.

you say that as if venoms are a bad thing

If you are ever in the Staines or Heathrow area (A30)

Be aware - There is a little white Toyota Starlet Turbo that goes around - DO NOT MESS with this car - It is the quickest thing I have seen on the road.

Mental fast!!

So you have to be a ****** to drive one?

Based on your limited ignorance or just a wild guess?

lol - Several of the owners I know have Evo's, Scoobys, Skyline's and Cosworths. The whole point of these cars is cheap performance. You can have as much fun in a Corsa as you can a EVO etc, especially if you don't car if you blow the engine or drive it into the gravel. Put 3K into a Corsa and you'll have a car that can keep up with some of the 'big boys' without the worry of an expensive repair bill if things go belly up.

One of the fastest road legal FWD cars is a Tigra Turbo that has huge respect in the tuning industry. Won Ten of the Best in 2008 with a 11.6 quater @ 137MPH on standard road tyres and tarmac. It also won fastest standing Km at 169mph as it crossed the line. Faster than most RWD and some of the big power 4WD cars on the day.

Yes Corsa's are crap. Just a shame some people are too dumb to realise it's not about being a better car than blah blah it's all about budget performance. £1K will get you a Corsa that will do a low 14 second 1/4 mile, provide numerous track days and cost peanuts to fix if something goes wrong.

This is a friends old Nova track car going round Donington. Looks like a lot of fun per £ to me :)

Same car which came 2nd in the FWD handling comp' at TOTB 2008. Beaten by 4/10th by a 400BHP Fiat Coupe Turbo.

Venoms were never acceptable on anything. They were hideous in the 90's, and they are hideous now. They should all be destroyed. Hard.

TBH I was never a fan of Stealths. I had a set of TSW Imolas on my Sierra Cossie look-a-like

Imolas and EVOs are probably the only 90's TSW wheels that can still 'work' now.
