i have a little shuttle and yesterday i took it apart to clean, it was clogged with dust in just 6 months... the fan was covered. got most out, but found it hard with the hoover!

so what do you lot use to get deep and dirty with your pc? wondering if to get some compressed air?

If you use compressed air make sure you hold the can upright. It's great fun spraying ice around (if you turn it upside down) but not great for your components.

You may have dislodged a cable in the process.

I have a compressor in the workshop, an old hoover with plastic attachment and set of very fine paint brushes.

gonna get some compressed air then! - i did haave some but it came out like ice.... just saw the post saying hold the can upright

Office supplies stores should stock them. The can will get cold quite quickly you can always stop for a while and let it warm back up again if you think the air coming out is going to cause a problem.

I have 2 paint brushes I use in conjunction with a tin of compressed air. Obviously I bought the brushes brand new. My heatsinks though I remove & take them in the other room & set my hoover on them. I have adapted the pointy curtain cleaner attachment with the tube of a pen to get better direction & more POWERZ :D + :p

I use a hoover with the brush nozzle.

:)

Though i have been told that this can cause static build ups on the plastic nozzle that might screw your components.
Never had that happen to me thankfully, and fingers crossed it wont.
