EVGA GTX260 SSC very hot

Mine idles around 53 and hits 80 after a long gaming session.

It's never missed a beat.....yet : Mine is the 65nm though.

Did you get the OC tool callled EVGA precision, the stock fan on mine is set to 40% and doesn't inrease dynamically, maybe try upping yours a notch or two see what happens. It logs temps as well, although Realtemp is more acurate I reckon.

Have the same card, never breaks 60C during gaming.

Only time it reaches over that is if I burn it with Furmark.

I'll have a go with the EVGA tool tonight cheers. Its the top of the metal section thats painted red that feels particularly hot to touch. Just built a new i7 system around one of these and the first time I tried to run a game, Far cry 2, the game had a major crash after about 2 mins, the kind that resets the PC so kinda worrying on a new build. Just wanted to make sure temps were not an issue.

Which is quite cool tbh, 80 degrees isn't uncommon.

Thought the 216 ones ran cooler than the 192 versions? To be honest I have only just got it and wouldn't know if 59C was good/bad annyway.;)

I'm happy with that though especially since the fan is still on default settings.

And that's overlocked to 720 core with shaders linked to something like 1543(?)

Overall I am very impressed with it so far and a reasonable boost over my 4870 512Mb (for the £20 it cost me to swap that is)

Mine will hit 80 if i leave the EVGA tuner fan on auto. It will push the fan to 50% ish to stop it getting any hotter.

If i set the fan to 60-70 then temps will fall to 60-70. idles 50ish.

The card will be burning hot to the touch with the fan on auto, as its running at 80degrees.

I have a EVGA SSC 216 core gtx260. 90nm though.

Installed the EVGA precision app and ran a few games last night. Card idles at 40 and rises to about 65 under load which seems the norm judging by other people experiances. Not touched any fan or clock settings yet

Would you reccomend this card?
