I take it all back. I'm loving my PS3

hahaha, It always amuses me when people try and advertise the Wii as a real console

Its a console alright. The Wii is probably the most consoley(i know its not a word) console this gen, seeing as how its main focus is just games. The PS3 isn't really a console, its more of an entertainment unit.

After deciding not get a PS3 for my home cinema room then buying one on MM I have to eat my hat and say this is one cool piece of kit.

Not got around with streaming yet but its silent, Transformers looked the nuts on BD on my projector and screen and the games are great fun without the need to faff with drivers etc...

I love the interface too.

So much more fun than a standalone for the money I paid.

easyrider.

Told you so in the HC threads eh, get a nice front end skin to improve its looks, many good ones out their.
Glad your liking it, keep an eye out for PS31080 MKVs and using the PSP in remote play is a nice feature (PSP becomes your tv and controller)
Gimmick, well kinda but good for using your media in other rooms etc.

Still my main complaint with the system is the lack of ability to sort your media as well as a HTPC or even Media Centre would, id like to be able to create folders.
I recommend "Media Monkey" on PC for getting music info/album art that works well on PS3. Also wish the 4GB limit could be lifted for files too.

Dont know how good the TV tool is to allow HDD recording but PS3 really does "Home Entertainemnt" better than anything else ive used before.

Is that in regards to a PS3? If so, then how is a PS3 unreliable?
I have a launch day PS3 and I've zero issue's with it in the 2 years (come march) I've had it, nor is it noisy. Can't say very much to it's launch day console rival. I find no fault with the PS3 graphics what so ever.
exactly the same as that, and hey with the heat it generates i can make toast in my room,
and im sure everyone who has owned one has said the same thing as me when they took it out of the box "oooh shiny"

Only negative I can see about the PS3 is the fact they haven't released a Keyboard and mouse that works with FPS.

Tried to persevere with Resistance 2 but control pad is just not the same.

Loving Motorstorm- Pacific Drift though

The PS3 works with most USB keyboards & mice no problem. It's the devs you need to convince to support them. The only FPS that does support them is UT3.

Agreed - Pacific Rift is an absolute classic !!.

Indeed, if you plug in pretty much any USB mouse+kb and use the internet browser for example it is 100% compatible. Problem is devs aren't creating games to allow for it, personally i like that as i don't want to use a mouse+kb on my coffee table as would be required for a console game and i wouldn't stand a chance online against those that did use a mouse+kb.

Yes they could make it so there's mouse+kb only servers, however they tried that in UT3 and it split the community in half.

Pacific RIFT btw :p

I love my PS3.

My Xbox360 has had some hammer recently but thats cause I just got it in the past couple of weeks. No doubt once my honey moon period wears out PS3 will be my main console again.

Everyone goes on about exclusives but without trying to start fanboy war here. The PS3 exclusives are much better in my opinion.

I have Forza 2, Gears of War 1+2 and Halo 3. Only one I really got into was Forza. The other 3 were pretty "meh". I was quite underwhelmed. I know a game isn't all about graphics but nothing is as striking on the Xbox. I think MGS4 and KZ2 have spoiled my eyes lately.

The games are solidly made and Xbox Live is everything I wish the PSN was (except free) so I can't fault that side of things.

Ps3 price drops already hit too was a place earlier selling 40gb model for £220 delivered think it sold out in minutes.

Good deal but surely they are only clearing stock as the 80Gb is £280 or so now?

I'd get a 40 and just buy your own hard drive though, works out much better. :)

Shame about the controller though, biggest downside.

compared to the 360 one ? I think it is about even if I am honest. I prefer the triggers on the 360, but the PS3 one is just as comfortable - and at least the dpad isn't half useless.

I am even on my liking of both consoles, literally I have zero preference to either.

PS3 pad analog sticks and layout are both inferior to the 360 though.

It has a better d-pad no question but the pad is letdown by the analog and trigger situation.
