Student loans new portal..

That was there last year when i checked. Not new.

edit: maybe its for pre 2006 students who have just recently got access to it?

My sister had some hassle with the SLC when she was planning on moving to Aus. She called up in order to find out how much she still owed and they actually had NO records of how much she had paid back.

They made her go through all her payslips in order to work out what she still owed, and tell them over the phone. They required no proof or anything. Absolutely shocking imo.
 
Password restrictions rarely work on testers.

Lotus notes at work says I can't use a password I've used the previous 8 times, but if I change my password 8 times I can now keep the same one I had 10 minutes ago.

That's really quite worrying. This implies that there's an extra factor to consider in the trade-off between repaying now vs. repaying through the normal means!

Generally the SLC is in disarray though. I know of a few people who've had trouble getting their message across to them. I think the process only works if you do exactly what they want you to - sign up for everything and accept whatever they send your way.
 
Im not sure exactly whats changed?

Ive been able to login to student finance and have a look at all my loans etc since I first started uni...that was over 4 years ago.

But anyway I got £9k loans, my balance is £9300 :eek: Although I started full time job last month so they should start deducting about £15/m soon!
