Hi

Does anyone know if a SIM card from a mobile broadband USB stick should work in a mobile phone? I just tried the SIM from my Vodafone dongle in my Nokia 6500 Classic and it didn't work. Would be interested to know if others have tried this.

Thanks

Hi radderfire

It is possible to put your mobile broadband SIM in a mobile phone. The way the service is provisioned on the network will allow you to pick up signal and use the internet through the phone as you would normally. You will be unable to make calls as the number won't be set up for this service.

I'm glad I could help!

Works on t-mobile, i made calls on a t-mobile boradnad dongle sim when i was stuck and had no choice.

I also found topping up easier with the sim in a phone :)

On T-mobile, voice calls are definitely possible on the Datacard SIMs, but there is no voice allowance as far as I know, so they will all be charged.
