How much Ram do you have for your games

4GB is about right, the only game I've seen get close to maxing it out was GTA4 (unless you count HL2 fakefactory with compressed textures disabled!).

If I was building a new PC today I'd look to get 6GB as that leaves a bit of room for expansion.

Users running WinXP can probably get away with 3GB in the majority of cases.

8 gig ddr 2 for ultimate vista 64 bit enough for everything i would say.

will switch to 12 gig ddr3 when 32 nm processors will come out

4gb of pc8500 on win xp32 (shows 3.25gb in system info) gonna move to a 64 bit os and perhaps add another 4gb.

on another note, is xp still the recommended OS to use when gaming, for performance reasons over vista?

As mentioned that's a different debate, but tbh there's not much if anything between Vista and XP, although I think if you have an older machine you will probably still get better performace with XP.

If you don't have Vista yet though, you should probably not bother buying it and wait for Windows 7.

Ditto. Havent noticed a massive difference from 2Gb Geil Black Dragon PC6400 i had in before, but it will be snappier im sure
